Today we did 'Shaping'
Shaping is breaking a final behaviour into smaller steps till we get to the end result, in this instance putting 2 paws in the bowl 🥣 😀
Shaping gets the dog thinking about what he needs to do next.
DO NOT do this for long periods of time, it should be fun for both you and your dog.
Other examples could be learning them to ring a bell (to let you know when they want to go out)
Taking a tissue out of a box
Lots and lots of things you can use this for.
You may hear me say we did actually do this a fair few months ago and he remembered 😀, what a clever boy !!

This video I have posted I recorded today, I just want to clarify what the 3 tasks are as my voice is a little quiet however to do any form of training with your own dog or anybodys dog you must have built a relationship first, doesn't matter the age of the dog either 😉
Task 1: Treat at the feet- can be used to learn loose lead walking but if you are using it for that you must choose the side you want your dog to walk at and stick to that side, drop treats to the floor while your dog is at the SIDE of you, not in front of you.
Task 2: Magic hands- works the same as treat at your feet but the dog has to be able to catch, again this can be learned.
BOTH THESE TASKS ADD VALUE TO YOU!
Task 3: Look at me- builds focus on you, only give treats once eye contact is made.
Other relationship building ideas are using a snuffle mat and hiding treats.
Grooming- if your dog enjoys it

Everybody meet the little pup Steve that joined us today for his first time, as you can see, they were all brill with him, super proud of my gang today ❤️
He was very shy as you would expect a pup to be but after 10 mins he loved it 😍
