**APPEAL FOR HELP: A message from Marion**
Newbridge Cat Rescue and Rehoming Centre in Cleobury Mortimer have been rescuing and housing unwanted cats since 2007. Unlike the larger rescues, they do not receive any funding and are left to rely on donations and fundraising efforts by volunteers. It costs £500 per week to feed the 28 senior cats in the Sanctuary, the 20 ferals that have made Newbridge their home and, of course, the cats that are brought in for rehoming. In total, there are often more than 100 cats here at any one time. A donation is asked for when a cat is rehomed, but that is all. The unwanted cats that come in are often not neutered or chipped and Newbridge Cat Rescue have to pay for these procedures, as well as any other vets bills too.
The larger rescue centres seem to have reduced the work they do considerably, leaving stray and abandoned cats to live outside without food and it is the smaller rescues - like Newbridge - that take them in.
Apart from the monetary aspect of looking after the cats, Marion undertakes the majority of the work herself - Rebecca and Karen come in a couple of days a week to help, but Marion could really do with some more volunteers to help out a few hours a week.
If you could possibly offer a small donation (via the website https://ncrrhc.weebly.com/donate.html), donate some cat food or even spare a few hours a week to help keep the rescue centre going then this would be fantastic.
Cat food can be dropped off at the centre. Please contact Marion directly on 01299 270701 or [email protected] to offer any available assistance. Thank you ❤
