Day 1 of the summer holidays ❤️

This means I will now have my mini apprentice with me, I don’t normally have her out with me durn half terms but as I am down to only my small dogs now and this will be the last summer holidays me and her before 👶🏻 arrives I couldn’t not take the opportunity to have that extra time with her ❤️

As you can see all the dogs love her and are listening to her no problem ❤️

Please please be aware of wild life when out walking your dogs especially when off lead.

This morning when I arrived to start my first group walk a gentleman turned up at the same time as us from wildlife rescue, a call had come in about a dog that attacked a swan and he was there to find the swan.

He had no clue where to start so me and the dogs took him down to the lake and pointed him in the right direction, we know where the two swans are with their babies so stay clear and with enough distance.

Please be aware of nesting season 🐾❤️

Now the weather seems to be warming up (𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺), I thought it would be a good idea to share some important information about walking your dogs this summer! ☀️ 🐶

🟢12-15°c - No evidence of heat stroke risk so enjoy your walkies!
🟢16-19°c - Generally safe to exercise dog at all times of the day, but keep an eye on large, obese and flat-faced breeds!
🟠20-23°c - Even at this temperature, dogs are at risk of heat stroke if exercised too rigorously or suffer from underlying conditions!
🔴24-27°c - Extreme caution should be taken as most dogs will find these temperatures very uncomfortable!
🔴28°c+ - Dangerous for all and heat stroke is a major risk!

Heatstroke can be fatal and requires urgent veterinary attention ❗Look out for these signs of heatstroke:

⚠️Collapse
⚠️Lethargy
⚠️Excessive panting
⚠️Vomiting or diarrhoea
⚠️Purple gums and redness of the skin

If you spot any symptoms, move your dog in a shady spot and keep them still. Offer them plenty of water and dampen their coat with tepid water. 🚨 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘃𝗲𝘁 𝗶𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗹𝘆! 🚨

Just look at the youngest face of the gang! Nellie has joined her big brother and sister on our group walks and is doing amazing! Once a week to start with until she’s abit bigger then she will be out with us multiple times a week❤️
