If anyone is interested we still have some copies of 'A Brief History of the Side Saddle' co-authored by the great side saddle expert, Nick Creaton and myself, published in aid of the museum. It gives lots of information on these and many other side saddles as well as the makers as well as the various accoutrements. The history and fashions and ladies involved too.

A rare surviving example of Owen & Co. London, side-saddle mounting aid. This was intended for mounting from the ground when circumstances dictated such. It was carried in a small case attached to the saddle.
