Here is a few words from Cheryl,

Hi I’m Cheryl Howard ,

I have been part of the Artero styling team UK since January 2023 and this has been one of my proudest achievements within my career to date .

I started my grooming career back in 1997 aged just 17, working and training on the job for a busy salon in Surrey for Richard and Linda Barker , In later years I then opened my own grooming salon “ Le Chien” in South London in 2005 which is an extremely successful salon and I have since opened a second salon “Le Grand Chien” in 2022 also in south London .

I have had a very successful and decorative Grooming Career having dipped my toe’s in the competition world in the early 2000’s with Bichons I didn’t return to the competition scene again until 2014 where I began competing with my Standard poodle who I also Showed and then I feel in love with the Kerry Blue terriers and very quickly got hooked competing & showing within this breed.

I have since gone on to win Multiple 1st 2nd & 3rd place wins leading to following achievements,

2015 Rising star Award

6 UK Best in Shows

3 UK reserve best in shows

1 European best in show

1 UK best Transformation in show

1 European Best Transformation in show

2019 Fallen Angel award @ (Great North Groom )

My proudest moment to date was being Part of the 2022 Groom Team England pure breed scissor division and winning the Prestigious Gold World Champion title along with my Team Costin Stoica Amy Manser & Kirsty Hunt.

I was also invited to Artero’s Jornadas Madrid in 2023 with my Gold winning team to do a live Demonstration of the Kerry Blue terrier in front of my biggest audience yet over 600 people .

Whilst I specialise in Kerry Blue terriers I also enjoy grooming all scissored breeds and have owned a standard poodle, Kerry blue terrier’s and recently become co owner of a Wire fox terrier which I am now Showing and competing with . I have also Placed with handstrip terriers in the Uk at open and champions level .

I will be doing a fun open and relaxed grooming demo for you at Finest Edge grooming supplies with a salon style Miniature Schnauzer and also sharing with you my favourite products that I use in my own salon and what products work best for different coats and grooming needs.

When I’m not grooming and showing dogs I mostly enjoy spending time with my beautiful family relaxing along the south coast at our holiday home . I have 3 children and 2 grandchildren and a very patient husband .

Tomorrow the 20th of Dec at 1:30pm the workshop and showroom will close for our Christmas break. The workshop and showroom will reopen on the 6th of Jan.

We know you are all working flat out to get all the Christmas grooms finished on time, but can we ask anyone that requires an appointment in the workshop in January please get in contact asap as January is a busy period for us, and we don’t want to disappoint anyone.

Mobile customers that require our services in the first quarter of 2025 please message us so that we can arrange this.

Any postal customers please send in as usual and we will take care of it when we are back in the workshop, anybody that has any urgent work please include a note in with your sharpening, of when you require them back and we will do our best to achieve this.

All website orders during this period we will process but please be aware that our usual express next day delivery service may be delayed due to delivery service and holiday restrictions.

We hope you all have an easy run up to Christmas and your scissors and blades stay sharp. Keep going you’re nearly there.

We are very excited to announce Cheryl Howards visit on the 27th of October 2024 to present our first ever seminar. Cheryl will be sharing her grooming skills and her industry knowledge . On the day Cheryl will be covering a miniature Schnauzer groom and a hand strip. A great opportunity to learn from an international award winning groomer and to continue your personal development. We would love to see you there.

Good morning Groomers (), hope you all had a great weekend. Please note we will be closed next week for some well earned rest. Its been our busiest summer to date. We will close on the 20th and reopen on the 30th of September. We would like to thank all our customers for their custom during the very busy summer period.

Any sharpening being sent in this week, we request that if you need it back before we break up please have it in our workshop before 4:30pm on Tuesday. Any work received after we will try our very best to have the work complete before we finish. We will not be able to carry out any more drier servicing this week.

Never short change your business by not regularly servicing your equipment. Keep your equipment in tip top condition to maintain tip top performance. We recommend having your clippers serviced every 6months if you groom full time and averaging 20-25 dogs a week. This clipper needed the following parts replaced, cog, hinge, turning lever and oil seal. The last time this clipper was serviced the wrong grease was used, we only use genuine Heiniger parts and grease.
