Midland Parrots/Coalville Pet Supplies
Midland Parrots was set up back in 2003 by myself and my partner Diane. Standing the market and online sales through our website was a part time hobby because we had a number of parrots and couldn’t get the size of toys. We took in a number of unwanted parrots and always said that we would never sell them on or rehome them with anyone else. In 2009 we opened our shop at Ibstock and then opened another shop in May 2014 in Long Eaton, Due to the Garden centre making the decision to expand, the pet shop we rented was demolished we had to move to our present location in James Street, Coalville. We closed our Long Eaton shop down in May 2018, for two reasons, firstly the property is being demolished in 2019 and the travelling to and from the shop was affecting my health, so the decision was made to close down and concentrate on our Coalville store. We still stand Long Eaton Market every Saturday so we continue to provide the customers with quality pet supplies Midland Parrots also run the East Midlands Parrot club which takes place on the second Tuesday of each month. We also have our own parrot hotel so can board your parrot whilst you are away on holiday. Our aim has always been to provide a quality product at a competitive price. In 2012 Heather Joined the business and became a director some 4 years later. We still take in unwanted parrots but space is now getting tight and time is a big issue. We now have over 150 parrots between us and sadly get phone calls most days from owners wanting to re-home their parrot. We are a small family business that not only has the experience but we always try to help
