Horse Horse hit by car‼️🚨

As all of you on here kindly followed, shared, commented and gave you own experiences, you’re all aware of the hit and run incident which prompted this page.

Unfortunately, it seems those in power are getting their own way. ‘Ignore them enough and they’ll go away’ after several email correspondence, x2 meetings and tons of broken promises it seems nothing is getting done to make the Ockham lane safer.

Since the incident, I saw a young boy in exactly the same place also be nearly hit whilst riding his bike, he actually lost his balance after the car left.
I was too far back to unfortunately get the cars reg or any details.
I informed the same people in power of this and still nothing.

The police apologised but still a month on have taken NO WITNESS STATEMENTS and have not been in contact. So what’s the message here. Drive recklessly hit someone and the law dose nothing.

The councillor- he likes to keep informing me about the Wisley Development, and Dominic Raab keeps saying he’ll help but yet I have seen nothing, despite me trust in him.
I’m not asking for a law to be lobbied - a road sign to be put in and enforced.

Personally it is being made clear that the people who use that road mean nothing. Our lives, that horses life whom was hit means nothing.
That day there was a 13yr old child was involved in the accident - her life, children mean nothing.
It’s disgusting. Inexcusable and these people in power do not deserve our support.

Please comment with your thoughts tagging either the Surrey Police Dominic Raab or anyone you believe relevant to show them your thoughts and feelings on the matter.

PLEASE SHARE TO EVERYONE!!

We may not be Deputy Prime Ministers, police commissioners or councillors but we are the people they are meant to serve.

Our voices together are more powerful then them.
Let them see we aren’t going away and they HAVE TO NOW make the road safer!

‼️‼️HIT & RUN UPDATE‼️‼️

Meeting with Crime Commissioner and Elmbridge Borough police Commander.

This meeting WAS NOT just for horses it was for everyone. It’s important that I make that clear as many people in the borough are having issues and this meeting was put together by Councillor David Lewis for people to ask police questions. Which was great… and probably the only positive thing I have to say about the meeting from my POV.

I asked why nothing was done by the police about the incident?
Why a hit and run was advised as ‘not being a 999 call’?
How can the police be satisfied with the lack of community belief in them?
And most importantly -
What are they doing about the lack of signs and dangerous speeding in the area which is putting lives at risk..?!

The Police Commander gave his honest answer, which, despite not a perfect situation, I respect and that ‘there was an error at the point of call which meant the incident was not logged properly’ he apologised sincerely and said that he would follow up in helping us anyway he can (I’m paraphrasing).
I have to say, at least he bothered to give us his time…

Unlike Lisa Townsend who despite saying ‘we’ll take this off grid and talk afterwards’ which ended my questioning - she didn’t so much as acknowledge us after the meeting. Clearly too important..!

David Lewis when asked what was being done by the council about the speed restrictions and road safety replied ‘we are making great efforts and inroads with bringing these in because of the Wisley development’
When I replied ‘signs and road safety should be about saving lives not property development’ I was again dismissed…

I can’t believe it feels like we are now having to make enemies just to get road signs put in to save lives.
WE LIKE MANY OTHERS ARE VICTIMS OF A HIT AND RUN -

The people in power need to stop passing the buck and do their job.
Why do they make it so complicated.
The road is unsafe. MAKE IT SAFE!!!!!

You would think these people would want to act to make things safer. Isn’t this why they went into the sectors they have... make things better.

PLEASE KEEP SHARING. THEY WANT US TO GO AWAY.

‼️‼️OCKHAM HIT AND RUN UPDATE..‼️‼️

I’m am please to announce I received a letter from the House of Commons. It’s OFFICIAL Dominic Raab has put forward our case for change to the relevant people and is backing our campaign FOR SIGNS FOR SAFETY. He promised in the meeting that he wouldn’t stop support the campaign until it is done (and I hope I don’t end up regretting this) but I trust him.
The roads WILL BE SAFER FOR EVERYONE.

In case you are reading this for the first time. I was on my way home from a hack when seconds from reaching our yard a car came speeding towards myself and my friends. The hit and ran over the back leg of my friends horse before speeding off.
Out in front was a 13yr old child.
Thankfully everyone including the horse is making a slow recovery but it could have been a lot worse and we count ourselves very lucky.
The road in question as had multiply accidents occur on it, yet still have no signs and no speed limit exists.
It’s time for change to keep everyone safe.
Drivers can’t be blamed if they aren’t given adequate warning….

‼️Hit and Run Update ‼️
Following a very successful meeting with Dominic Raab, who was very sympathetic for all incidences ensured by riders and has given his full support to our campaign, in making changes to Surrey roads safer for all.
He has promised to contact the councillors, highways agency and Surrey police next week to get started with the new road signs and possible restrictions.
To use his words ‘this incident sounds horrific and should have never have happened’
I fully in his support and am grateful that he as joined us in making these changes happen.

Let’s see what happens next week….

Today is the day..!
HAVE YOUR say regarding YOUR roads and YOUR SAFETY!

If you’ve been following the story there was a hit and run which occurred recently resulting in my friends horse being run over and quite frankly I’ve had bee stings which were taken more seriously.

As I was ignored I have made it my mission to push for change. The roads need to be reviewed, not because of a development, not because of M25 alterations but because people’s lives are being put in danger.

X4 different people have given me x4 different accounts when Surrey highways have told them AT LEAST - THREE PEOPLE NEED TO BE SERIOUSLY INJURED OR DIE before we do anything.
One of those calls was regarding children...

These people need to realise they work for the people and people want to be safe!

Hello, I have a meeting on the 24th to change the safety on the roads in the Ockham / Cobham area. I need your support to push this. I was involved in a hit and run whereby a horse was run over a rider left on the floor and the drive sped off. The police did nothing. The council said it was too expensive to put signs up and initially the MP's didn't want to talk to me. But thanks to your help in sharing the story I have a meeting with Dominic Raab to discuss what can be done. I NEED YOUR HELP! Please share, join, like and repost as much as you can x

Hello, as some of you may have seen recently a post has been spreading which is regarding a Hit and Run involving three horses and riders. One horse in particular was run over by the car (white Tesla) and the rider left on the floor, yet still the car drove off. The roads in the Ockham area where this happened are terrible. There are no signs, warnings or cameras. Leaving EVERYONE, horse riders, car drivers, cyclists, motorbikes and pedestrians at risk from a collision even death. With the traffic ever increasing it is time the councils make the roads safer. I have a meeting on the 24th of this month with Dominic Raab and I need as much SUPPORT, experiences and reports as possible to present to him. WE NEED TO MAKE CHANGES TO THE ROADS! Please share the heck out of this. Please leave experiences if you have any and please follow. I will update accordingly once I have more information. Thank you x
