Very cold and frosty at the ranch -6c overnight. The Shetlands are warm and happy in their natural furry coats and eating hay to keep warm. The ice was so thick on the water troughs today 🥶

Welcome to Shetland Pony Club. A little introduction if you are new to us and hello to all our lovely new followers. We are an award winning children's riding centre with trained Shetland Ponies for children as young as 3 years old to ride. We are in Cobham Surrey England UK just to the South of London based on a beautiful farm in the Surrey Hills. Our ponies are on their winter holiday's until March and our bookings will open late January.

Happy New year from the ponies 🥳 The ponies are all safe and happy after a night of loud fireworks and very high winds . Happily munching hay 🐴. The ponies like Winter time at the ranch and enjoy their holidays. Looking forward to seeing you all for riding again in March 2025

🏆Yay! Shetland Pony Club Wins Equestrian Training Award

We are thrilled that Shetland Pony Club has won the Equestrian Training Provider of the Year 2023/4 Award for the South of England. Wow!
The judges love how our ponies and team are well trained, and that children are introduced to riding and ponies in a safe and gentle manner.

Thank you to everyone who came to London yesterday to support family farms . Shetland Pony Club is on our family farm and without the farm we would not exist. Not only do family farms produce food but they also enable nature connection and land access through clubs such as ours

Good news⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. We passed our Council inspection for the welfare of the ponies with top marks five stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Thank you to all our team for getting the tack and ponies ready and especially to Liz for getting the absolute mountain of paperwork required in shape. Very proud of our ponies who behaved very well for the vet. In the UK to run a riding school you must have the council licence and we have routine annual inspection and every three years a BIG inspection. This was the BIG one .

A 5 Star Animal Welfare Licence is very hard to pass. Every year the council and a special veterinary inspector come to check that the ponies are healthy, happy and enjoying their work, and every 3 years they come and check everything. Lots of cleaning and checking Preparing for a 5 Star Animal Welfare Licence inspection takes several weeks. The ponies have to be really clean and healthy and all the saddles and bridles have to be in good repair and sparkle too....

Shetland Pony Club has received a 5 Star Animal Welfare Licence for great pony care, safety & best practice. Come and ride our ponies today.
