This is George having ultrasound on his supraspinous ligament 🐎

The supraspinous ligament runs over the drosal spinous processes in the thoracic and lumbar region, joining on to the nuchal ligament which runs up to the poll.

He had his back scanned recently showing severe damage in the ligament which needs help to ensure the fix is as strong as possible! 💪

Ultrasound is not just for tendon and ligaments in the legs, it is effective at repair all over the body!

This is Moss 🐶

She is 12 years old and before treatment was finding it hard to go up and down stairs and to go to the toilet as she was in alot of discomfort.

After treatment she jumped on the table!

A much happier and more comfortable Moss, I will leave it up to the owner as to whether she should be on the table 😅

This little fluff ball is Bailey 🐶

🔹He has started on his road to recovery following surgery for medial patella luxation

🔹This is a very common issue with smaller breed dogs which often shows as 'skipping' this is where the patella luxates out of place, and can be quite painful!

Meet Baby, a beautiful Shar Pei rescued and re homed with the 🐕

She took her first steps on the road to recovery with me today at 💙

🔹She has started rehab following TPLO surgery following cruciate ligament injury.

🔹She is only 2 weeks post op and did incredibly well. It is important to start rehab early following surgery to keep muscle wastage to a minimum and get back up to full strength and function.

Recently I have been spending my evenings treating one of my own dogs 🐶

He has managed to break a metacarpal and although it is on the mend, keeping your fit working spaniel on rest is rather tricky!

He has been having pulsed magnetic therapy and LASER to speed up the healing process and ensure he returns back to function stronger than before 💪

Wonderful seeing clients carrying out their prescriptive rehab plans and reaping the rewards 🏆💪

Meet Nova 🐶

🔹She suffers with carpal hyperextension, where her wrist joint falls further towards to ground than it should.

🔹She is in abit of a negative cycle. She is on a weight loss programme but needs to increase activity to shift more weight, and the increase in activity is putting more strain through her carpus.

🔹So she has had a carpal brace fitted to allow her to exercise without further strain. We have used a as it incorporates different levels of support which will be adapted as she loses weight.

🔹 She is also undergoing hydrotherapy with the water treadmill 🌊

Odin has started on his road to recovery with us at the new clinic 🐕

🔹He is a 6 year old rottweiler and has been referred following a break in his carpus, (wrist) his recovery is taking longer than it should so he is now starting Physiotherapy.

🔹His bespoke Physio plan will include LASER, PMFT to increase the healing and speed up recovery among many other things and will also start hydrotherapy with us soon to be able to exercise without weight bearing and risking any further damage 🌊

I am very pleased to now be able to share this expansion with you all!! I am joining the Synergy team and taking over from the end of the year 🎉

This will absolutely not effect my mobile work as Animals In Motion but will enhance it.
I can now offer a specifically designed physiotherapy unit for canine clinic appointments 🐶 and also a large hydrotherapy pool and underwater treadmill for canine clients!! 🌊

Also on a more personal level I am looking forward to working within a team again and getting back to full time work as my little ones are growing up so fast!

Can't wait to welcome all current clients to the clinic and meet all new faces 🐶🐱

We are really excited to announce a new member of our team! 📣

I visited yesterday to treat one of their Agility dogs as he wasn't firing on all cylinders and pulling up early 🐕

It's not just post op cases where physio can help, performance issues, noting stiffness or slowing down in your much loved pet dog are important symptoms of discomfort too!

His 4 month old cocker brother was there, I couldn't help myself... puppy cuddles are the best 😍

When you are thoroughly enjoying the treatment but also want a cuddle 💙🐶

Post op rehab is hardly ever a straight line and can often seem like you take 1 step forwards and 2 backwards.

Specific rehab tailored to your individual animal is the only way to achieve the best results with minimal set backs 💪

Incorporating electrotherapies, hands on treatment and manipulations if and when required ⚡

🌟Ultrasound 🌟

This is the same tendon 6 weeks apart, the horse was on box rest severely lame, with the only treatment being therapeutic ultrasound.

The top image shows holes within the tendon, no strength at all, with fibres in a crazy orientation. No wonder the poor horse was so lame, the tendon had been almost destroyed 💣

Ultrasound is the secret weapon when it comes to tendons and ligaments. It works by increasing cell proliferation stimulating repair, collagen production and realignment which increases strength.. Among many other things! 🛠️

In the bottom picture there are more fibres, they are realigning, there is so much more strength with just one course of ultrasound!! 💪

If your horse, or one you know, has suffered a tendon or ligament injury and you want to know more, please reach out 📞

Let's talk about amputation... it is never nice, no matter what the cause. The postural changes, stress and pressure it puts the body under is extreme.

Physio is a vital part of recovery and ongoing care.

Aims include changing recruitment patterns to stabilise the lumbar spine, increasing core strength, postural stability, reducing compensations and re educating gait.

If your dog or any you know have had to undergo partial or full amputation, please get in contact to start making their lives more comfortable 📞💜🐕
