Definitely needing the solarium lights on this week! ❄️❄️❄️

Sub zero temperatures are tricky to work in. I always make sure the horses stay warm enough throughout their sessions with quartering of rugs and extra warming up of tissues, and making sure my hands don't get too cold between treatments at yards... but we were spoilt under the lights here!

I hope you are all managing in this cold snap 🌡️

What we have been getting up to on the canine side..

This is Stanley 🐶

He sustained a horrific injury last year resulting in a traumatic cruciate ligament injury and tarsal medial collateral ligament rupture.

He had an external fixator fitted for 4 weeks and was on prolonged strict crate rest. He came to us with significant disuse atrophy and compensatory issues.

However he did really well throughout his rehab which incorporated physiotherapy and hydrotherapy and now you wouldn't know anything had happened!

Well done Stanley! 💪

This is George having ultrasound on his supraspinous ligament 🐎

The supraspinous ligament runs over the drosal spinous processes in the thoracic and lumbar region, joining on to the nuchal ligament which runs up to the poll.

He had his back scanned recently showing severe damage in the ligament which needs help to ensure the fix is as strong as possible! 💪

Ultrasound is not just for tendon and ligaments in the legs, it is effective at repair all over the body!
