Established in 1911 - Charles Owen revolved around manufacturing military helmets which were worn by the British Army throughout the First World War. Before expanding into motorsport and eventually Equestrian helmets. In 1983 they were also awarded the Royal Warrant as protective headgear supplier to the Royal Mews by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

Charles Owen helmets use Mips technology, which is a Brain Protection System that aims to combat rotational motion that can cause brain injuries. A low friction layer allows a sliding movement of 10–15mm, in all directions, reducing rotational motion to the brain during impact.

Nearly all of Charles Owen helmets are triple standard: PAS015, VG1 and ASTM. This allows their helmets to deal with a higher number of situations, as the more standards awarded to a helmet the more they are tested in a greater variety of situations.

Rich’s helmet is a custom made MyHalo CX featuring his Regal Dressage logo. Rich found the process of designing his own helmet incredibly easy, with the team at Charles Owen providing unlimited support and knowledge. He is also blown away by the quality of the helmet and I can confirm he is overjoyed to be working with such a integral company within the equestrian community.

Busy week last week starting with George Katharine Keep Cruising at Solihull gaining 70.15% in the Inter 1, then onto Vale View premier league with Lucie Cuthbert and my own Regal Ricochet doing our first Grand Prix freestyle getting 68.34%. Really pleased with both horses. Huge thank you to everyone at Sue Carson Saddles and Paul Fielder for the help and training.
