Stanley and I enjoyed some rare 1:1 time together this morning - so we practiced our commands.
I have had the pleasure of walking Stanley since he was 4 months old, during these 3 years together we have worked on training together, to build our bond whilst also having lots of fun together!
Today's commands were: sit stay, down stay, recall, heel position and middle. Stanley was a superstar as always π©΅
Don't forget we offer 1:1 training walks to help assist with basic training, such as loose lead walking, recall etc, or to help build the foundations of calm behaviours whilst on walks. If you would like more information then please pop us a message or email us at [email protected] πΎ

Some clips from today's training session with Olly!
We worked on loose lead walking, walking to heel and focusing on me. We also played some engagement games, such as "find it", and a quick pace moving game of changing directions whilst adding in commands, this helps to keep Olly focused on me, rather than the other dogs that were in the field.
He did brilliantly!! He's walking much better on lead, and he is starting to focus more on me rather than focusing on other dogs.
Such a clever boy πβπ¦Ί π©΅
Ollie's first training session πΎ
Ollie is quite strong on the lead as both he and his sister were previously only walked off lead and in quiet areas. Their owners wanted to begin training so that they can take the dogs on walks and it be an enjoyable experience for all involved.
Ollie wasn't so keen on taking treats from me during our first session, he was overwhelmed by being outside for the first time in a while, and it was our first time alone together. He needed to build trust with me, so I took my time and our rewards for this session were verbal, he also enjoyed a good fuss every now and then! I'm hoping that as our bond improves he'll feel more confident to take treats from me, as this will really help with our training progress!
Our first session included engagement games, allowing time for him to decompress (letting him sniff and stopping to make a fuss of him), once he was happy and engaging with me we then began the first steps of loose lead training.
By the end of the session Ollie was engaged and walking beautifully! Here are some clips of our training walk, these clips were taken towards the end of the session. He was incredible and I look forward to more sessions together, and hopefully he'll soon be able to go on long walks with his owners π©΅

One of Stanley's favourite games - Find it!
Stanley loves his ball, and he also loves brain games! So we combined the two together, and played hide and seek with his ball π©΅
'Find it' is a brilliant way to tire out a dog, both physically and mentally as it encourages them to use their nose and to problem solve πΎ
