Esra’s Amur leopard cubs have just turned 3 months old and have now been named! On 24th November 2024, exactly one month before Christmas Eve, female Amur leopard, Esra, gave birth to two healthy cubs. Three months later, their progress has been immense and both cubs are becoming much more adventurous in their outdoor habitat. We are delighted to introduce you to Anya (left), our female cub, and Akovi (right), our male cub!

Recently spotted in our Dinosaur Realm! A robin has made a nest in the mouth of one of the fiercest prehistoric predators we have here at the Zoo – the T-Rex! It’s great to be seeing more local wildlife around the Zoo, and possibly even a first in the history of nest locations. Don’t worry! This T-Rex won’t bite, he’s being very welcoming to the Robin family and is staying statue still! Where’s the most unusual place you’ve spotted a birds nest?

Here at the Zoo, we are home to two species of otter, the Asian short-clawed otter and smooth-coated otters! 🦦
Did you know that smooth-coated otters can swim long distances and can stay underwater for up to 8 minutes with a single breath! Their whiskers allow them to sense movement and find prey even in murky water.
