As some of you may know, last year I had to take a massive step back on my business due to personal reasons.

So I just wanted to say a massive thank you to my current clients who have supported me through this time.

BUT.....I AM BACK!!!!
I have now expanded my days and opening hours.

I'm a level 3 city and guilds qualified.
Work on a 1-2-1 basis home groomer

Meet little gracie.... Gracie comes to see me every 4 weeks for her nails and pads (owner likes to groom her herself).
As gracie is an older girl now, her nails wear differently or on some feet not at all due to how she now walks/compensates.
Regular appointments help keep gracie comfortable and able to still enjoy her walks 🐶😊

Working from home today to catch up on paperwork and check in with my training clients....
While my 2 boys 🐶 have some bucket emptying after a busy weekend and practise their boundary work.
Good job boys 😊 (getting a good picture of a black dog is always a difficulty of mine 😂)

Happy 1st birthday to this boy 🐶🎂🎉
For those who have had the pleasure 🤣 to hear some of my stories about him you will know what a challenge he has been and still on going 🙈
Has he tested me to the max - absolutely
Have I questioned myself as a dog mum, dog professional - god yes

But we will keep working through his struggles.
His got so much potential and can be the most loving affectionate dog going.

My point is... Just because I'm a groomer/trainer it doesn't mean our dogs don't have struggles and it certainly doesn't mean we don't have bad days with it.

Keep an eye out in the near future as herbie will starts making more appearances 😊

Please be aware!!

Please share this as it is VERY important. We know xylitol is toxic to dogs and cats, but birch sugar IS xylitol. When checking the ingredients of a product we may look for xylitol if we know it is sugar free, but we MUST look for birch sugar too.

I work extremely hard to be the best advocate for your dogs and working with your dogs to be as stress free as possible.

Not all dogs will ever be happy with the grooming experience but we can teach them how to tolerate it.
Trust and patience always needs to be apart of this process.

As a vet/groomer I see so many longhaired and/or doodle dogs who are matted. You need to feel the coat right at the root not just at the surface. Shaving these dogs short if matted respects the animal welfare act. We cannot have them on a table for hours being brushed - the pain and discomfort would throw animal welfare out of the window!!

If you have a longhaired and or curly haired dog do discuss brushing with your groomer. You need to get it right to avoid unnecessary sores and discomfort. Start from a young age to get them used to it and do not just concentrate on the body! The legs and face get matted to.

Avoid the shave and trips to the vet by maintaining the coat. Your groomer will become your best friend as they will help hugely ❤️

So..... As most of you were aware, just before covid hit I was planning a rebrand. This was then put on hold due to covid as there was already enough confusion.
Well now we have it.... In a couple of weeks my rebrand will be out there.

My reband is happening to fit all my current canine qualifications and near to be completed qualification which in envoles dog concept training and Holistic Grooming.

Looking at the dog as a whole and working with the dog in front of me!!!

The importance of having puppies introduced groomers ASAP!

Introducing your puppy to a dog groomer is incredibly important, for several reasons not just to look pretty or handsome!

Delaying your puppies groom often leads to a fear of the groomers, introducing them early allows them to realise there is nothing to be scared of and helps build the bond between pup and groomer from an early age.

Those pooches with a curly coat can become matted very easily, this can cause pain and make them even more hesitant of the groomer as the groom itself can be uncomfortable to remove these mats. Make their first experience a lovely one! Not one where they need de-matting and shaving.

Puppies take to new experiences a little easier than adults. Being bathed, hearing the sound of a dryer and clippers and being used to the feel of scissors and being handled all over is a must for all young dogs. Getting used to having their nails clipped and being brushed will not only keep them more comfortable but also make it easier for you to manage their coat at home.

Also for dogs with a thicker, curlier and or more trickier coat to manage, your groomer can talk your through how to maintain it at home. Which brushes and products to use in between your regular grooming visits.

Its good for your dog's welfare and well-being to have a comfortable, mat free coat and it is great for them to enjoy being groomed so the earlier you introduce them to your chosen groomer the better ❤
