Welcome to our Coleford Pet Shop page. As from Tuesday 2nd April we will be taking over Smith Pet and Garden which is located at 5 Pyart Court, Coleford.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank Andrew and Heather Smith for giving us this opportunity and look forward to welcoming customers old and new.
Over the next few weeks we will be making a few changes to make it ours, but we don't intend to change too much as we believe it's already a lovely little shop.
Our aim is to give the best customer service so any enquiries are welcome.

URGENT - ALABAMA ROT❗️| A suspected case of Alabama Rot has been reported in our neck of the woods, in the south of the county near Ross-on-Wye.

🔹Please SHARE to make people aware!

Alabama Rot is a disease that damages blood vessels in the skin and kidney and can be fatal.

If you walk your dog in muddy, wooded areas of the county please look out for:

*Lesions or ulcers on the skin. These could appear as a patch of red skin, or as an open ulcer or sore most commonly found on a dog’s paws or lower legs, but they can also be found on a dog’s face, mouth or tongue, or on their lower body
*Signs of kidney failure include loss of appetite, tiredness and vomiting.

If your dog is unwell or exhibiting the above symptoms please contact your vet as soon as possible as early treatment can save an otherwise fit and healthy animal.

“Just to let people know that my dog has been ill with suspected Alabama Rot. The reason I say suspected is because you cannot be 100% sure unless the kidneys are biopsied post mortem.

“We always walk in the Lea Bailey Enclosure. Please make sure you wash your dogs off after having been walked.”

A big HI from me Benji Beagle.🐾 I’d really appreciate your help in my quest to find my forever home. A LIKE and a SHARE would be such a big help and I’d WOOF you forever.😘

Here’s a reminder of what you need to know about me:

I came from a very bad situation of terrible neglect. I came in with horrendous skin issues and my skin was red raw from being in my own excrement. It has taken quite some time to get me right, but that’s all in the past, let’s concentrate on my future.

My ear infections and skin issues are managed and under control with half a tablet of apoquel a day. I’m like a new hound with no other health concerns.

Oh and BTW if I’m homed in the Forest of Dean or near by, my rescue are happy to continue to pay for my apoquel medication and anything relating to apoquel eg vet checks regarding apoquel, repeat prescription fee.

My carers say I’m a typical beagle, I love my walks and my nose is to the ground. I get excited when I see my lead and have been known to do a happy dance. In my excitement I can be a little strong, but I’m manageable with my harness and bungee lead. I do try to please you and I just LOVES my treats. 😋

I’m so lucky and have landed myself a place in foster, thank you so much Family. I made sure I picked up house training quickly and I was very happy to meet my new hound sibling. I travel well in the car, not a big fan of being left but have my safe and happy space in my crate.

I’m pleased to tell you I’m neutered, vaccinated, up to date with flea & worm treatment and microchipped and I’m ready to pack my bag to join my new forever family. Could that be you?

Having several dogs myself I am experienced in:

Pet hair on carpets, sofas, curtains, work surfaces, in your food, in your cup of tea and generally anywhere else you hadn’t thought of 😂

Mud on walls, floors, skirtings, windows, doors, kitchen units, on your sofa, on your clothes and anywhere else your dog may have been 🤦‍♀️

Windows and patio doors that have been covered in a new kind of obscured effect (slobber) 😅

I can do whole days for deep cleans or just a few hours a week.
Dog walking available as part of the service or separately.
