โ๏ธ With the warmer weather we've had the pleasure of experiencing lately only set to become more frequent (hopefully...) as we head towards the Summer season, here are just a few tips to help keep your pets safe:
๐ง Make sure you top up water bowls regularly, & if youโre going on a long walk or car journey when the weather is warm, bring along a travel bowl and a bottle of water to keep your four legged friend hydrated.
๐ฅพ During spells of hot weather, limit exercise to early morning and evening when it is cooler, and avoid the hottest part of the day.
๐ Never leave your dog unattended in your car on a warm day โ temperatures can rapidly reach dangerous levels.
๐ Cats can find their way into uncomfortably warm places they shouldnโt, such as non-ventilated greenhouses, sheds or cars, and then get trapped. On a hot day, this can cause heatstroke, and may even prove fatal, so make sure to check such places for lost visitors.
โฑ๏ธ Make sure your pet has access to plenty of shade outside, rather than lying in direct sunlight โ it may be safest to avoid sun exposure between 10am and 4pm.
