With the weather being abit chilly atm 🥶 i thought i would reshare this 😊

Rabbits cope alot better in the colder weather than they do in the hot weather, please don't bring them inside for a warm and then put them back outside, its just not fair on them and can be dangerous for them.

With the weather looking to stay quite cold at the moment here are some ideas to help keep your bunnies warm.......

❄ Stuff their bedrooms with hay or straw (straw is warmer for them but hay will do the job). You can also line their hutches with newspaper/cardboard for some extra warmth.

❄ Wrap their bottles in newspaper, socks, cloths....basically something to help them stop freezing. Check their spouts incase they have frozen.

❄ Give them abit of extra food.

❄ Cover their hutch with a hutch cover, plastic sheet or tarporlain to help keep the cold out but make sure their is plenty of ventilation.

❄ Remove any damp or wet bedding.

❄ Make sure they have plenty of hay to eat.

❄ Keep their hutches in a sheltered area or an area out of the elements.

Please DONT bring them into the house or somewhere warm unless you can keep them in till spring time when the temperatures are warmer and are staying warmer.
Bringing them inside then taking them back out into the cold does them more harm than good.
Of course its fine to have your rabbit inside over winter but until the weather is warmer and stays warm they will have to live inside.

Rabbits can cope fairly well with cold temperatures, much better than hot temperatures.
