Firstly we would like to thank all our clients who attended our gastroscope week- it was a great success🎉

This horse came to us last week for a gastroscope;
He is 3 year old who was not thriving in comparison to the rest of his herd

The scope showed squamous ulceration in the stomach which would explain his poor condition, he was sent home with a course of gastrogard for 21 days so follow along to see how he improves🤩

The majority of horses with gastric ulcers respond well to a simple treatment programme and our vets can advise you on how to avoid this painful condition recurring🤒

We are happy to be teaming up with Gastrogard for our gastroscope week. Information leaflets will be available for any owners looking to know further information on how Gastrogard works and our vets will organise a treatment plan for the appropriate horses affected by gastric ulcers💪🏻

🔬A gastroscopy examination is nothing to be worried about, our vets are experienced in this procedure and are happy to answer any questions you may have 🔬

Its important to fast your horse before its gastroscope so that the stomach is completely empty and the vets are able to get a clear picture 🐎

Client success story! Meet Storm, she came to us in February after being too stiff and sore to complete her flat work lessons. Storm had her hocks injected and was advised to go on Epitalis 4cyte supplement for joint health. Special delivery! Our vet Andrea welcomed a filly to the world at 3.45am. Belle is by Kingdom out of Princess Paris 💞 both mum and baby are doing well 🥰

The cute foals are coming thick and fast! 😍 Remember to ensure your mare passes the placenta within 3 hours of foaling and both mare and baby are given a tetanus antitoxin injection 💉 if you’re unsure, our vets would be happy to help 🥰

Meet our new equine vet! Andrea graduated with distinction from the University of Liverpool in 2014. She completed an internship in New Zealand before undertaking a stud season in Australia. Following that she spent a year working in an equine hospital in Cheltenham before spending four years in equine practise in Co.Waterford. Her main areas of interest are problem mares and neonatal intensive care. Outside of work she spends her time show jumping with her Selle Francais gelding “Pierre” and takes a keen interest in following the National Hunt racing. Andrea is looking forward to meeting you all soon! 🐴

We have been busy this past few weeks foaling, covering mares and flushing embryos 😀 great to see hard work paying off with positive pregnancy scans and positive flushes
