Arthritis in Pets 🐱🐶🩻

Arthritis is a condition that is very common and affects joints and causes them to become swollen and painful.
It is progressive so it will get slowly worse over time.

Symptoms include:
-Stiffness ( especially after rest/walks)
-Limping/Lameness
-Reluctance to jump or climb stairs
-Being quiet, grumpy or sleeping more

There are many different causes of arthritis:
Normal wear and tear
Genetics- some breeds of are born with an increased risk of developing arthritis
Injuries

Treatment may include:
Pain relief
Joint Supplements
Hydrotherapy
Surgery

For the months of Jan- March 2025 we are focusing on pet obesity.
Obesity can lead to increased risk of health issues such as diabetes, arthritis and certain cancers in our pets. So it is important they stay a healthy weight!

Our wonderful nurses run a weight clinic each week, were owners can address any concerns regarding their pet's weight. This fantastic clinic is free and equips owners with tools, advice and guidance to help their pet reach their target weight 🐾
