That’s a wrap on my deliveries for 2024 😀

Due to such a high demand and with stock levels being limited coming into me I’ve sadly had to limit the sales to 3 bales per customer to try and help everyone to maintain their horses until I get the rest of my order in the new year.

I know this is a pain and I am trying my best to get more in I promise so I will keep you updated.

Contacting me

If you have a question or an order that’s urgent can you please call me on my mobile number which I’ve placed below.

My phone isn’t glued to me during the day so I will not pick up messages until I get home which twice today has been too late for the question.

Also if you message me late at night with an order you may not get an order notification until the evening after or if it’s not until the end of the week you may get it the night before as I process orders in the evening if ordering on a Wednesday, Thursday or Friday.

‼️With Immediate Effect‼️

I’m sorry to have to do this but with immediate effect all orders must be paid for before items are delivered.
You can still pay cash on delivery but if you are paying BT/Paypal then this must have hit my account before items are left.

‼️ I had over £1200 of outstanding payments last week that I am still chasing

‼️ I have people not responding to my payment requests leaving me to message 3-4 times and not even a reply

I sadly hate chasing for money, I run my business on my own doing everything so I just don’t have the time to keep chasing people for money plus with overheads it’s not easy.

**This does not effect those on monthly invoices**

Thank you again for all of your support and I am sure you can all understand this decision.

🎄 Christmas Openings & Deliveries🎄

With Christmas falling on a Wednesday it will mean my delivery days will change over Christmas.

🎄 Friday 19th December deliveries will now be on Thursday 18th December

🎄 Saturday 20th: Shop open 10am - 12pm

🎄 Wednesday 25th December will now be delivered on Tuesday 24th December.

🎄 Thursday 26th will now be delivered on Friday 27th December

🎄 Saturday 28th shop is open 9am - 12pm

🎄 Wednesday 1st January will now be delivered on Thursday 2nd January

🎄 Saturday 4th January the shop is open 9am -12pm

If you are ordering anything that isn’t on your normal order I will need this ideally by tomorrow else I may not be able to get it to you before the new year so it would be worth letting me know what your after asap so I can have it in ready.

It’s great to see vets actively supporting this. We so quickly jump straight for the wormers but if this starts to fail what future do horses have 🤷‍♀️ please just stop worming without knowing if your horse needs it or not.
Yes some old school methods are great but this isn’t one of them!

We are very aware that it was once strongly instilled amongst horse owners to give an Equest Pramox to all horses in winter. Unfortunately, we have since realised that this practice is wrong and leads to problems with wormer resistance. 𝗡𝗢𝗪 is the time to change and adopt a new approach.

𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝘆:

🐛 Moxidectin (in Equest and Equest Pramox) is the only drug effective against encysted redworm and should not be overused

🐛 Praziquantel (in Equest Pramox) is one of only two drugs effective against tapeworm and so should also not be overused

🐛 If worms develop too much resistance to moxidectin and praziquantel, we will struggle to treat severe worm burdens in horses in the future (youngsters will be most affected, before developing a good immunity to worms)

🐛 Cases of resistance to both of the above drugs have already been reported

🐛 There are no new wormers on the horizon, so we must preserve the efficacy of the few we have

🐛 Many horses do not actually have a large encysted redworm burden over winter (e.g. horses between the ages 5-15 with consistently low WECs and good pasture management) and therefore do not require moxidectin

🐛 Only around 1 in 4 horses in the UK have a tapeworm burden high enough to need treating, so most do not require praziquantel

🐛 Therefore, only a small proportion of horses actually require Equest Pramox. Often, a different wormer is more appropriate, or for low risk horses with a negative tapeworm test, no wormer is required at all

🐛 Wormers can have a negative effect on the horse's gut health

🐛 Wormers are excreted in faeces, contaminating the environment - these chemicals are toxic to aquatic life and insects, such as dung beetles
