Well guys that is me officially signed off for a long weekend to finally celebrate a family wedding in France, only been 3 years in the making 😜!

We will be up and running from Tuesday 16th, until then I hope all your dogs have a great time.

Hi Guys! Sorry I have been so quiet but we have had a few changes happening and its been busy, busy 👀.

One of these changes is that we now officially have transport which means we can have more pack walks happening, and can start getting your pooch some more doggy friends!

Now because of this, we have some more news to share which is that we have had even more spaces become available! So whether you already walk with us and want to up your days/times. Or whether you are a completely new customer looking for that extra bit of help to get your dog out and about, we may be able to help.

Obviously each dogs characteristics will be taken into account when looking at what type of walk will benefit them most, i.e their ability to socialise with other dogs, their recall level off lead etc. But please don't let that stop you from getting in touch as we strive to help everyone out as much as we can.

Following the governments newest decision on COVID restrictions in the UK Hikes 'N' Hounds want to make sure we are doing everything we can to keep everyone safe and well during these times. Which means the following changes will be made to how we operate:

1. I will be wearing a mask when entering your home. If you are home when I collect your dog and would rather me stay outside and you bring the dog out that is perfectly fine as well.

2. ALL dogs will be required to wear our leads, which will be sanitised in-between each walk.

3. We will also as ever encourage our customers to bank transfer payments as opposed to handling cash.

I hope that by taking these measures and following the governments advice as closely as we can we can keep everyone as safe and healthy as possible. And above all keep us out of another full lockdown and stay in operation.

We still have slots available during the week, particularly on a Tuesday and Thursday. So if you think your dog needs some extra exercise and attention then please get in touch and we will be more than happy to try and help you out.

Don't forget we also offer drop in sessions 7 days a week. And training either with you present or without, these usually take place in the evenings and a Saturday morning.

Whilst the weekends are free from walking so I can spoil my own doggies with some affection, we can offer a drop in service. So if you have an all day wedding, family meal or kids football game etc. Hikes 'N' Hounds can arrange for your dog(s) to be let out to toilet and get some attention whilst you are out and about.
We know how much our furry friends can consume your time, especially when they are younger, and we are here to help you shower them with all the time and attention that they need. Get in touch if you feel like this is something that could help you.

It's time to meet Hikes 'N' Hounds residents dogs again.

Meet Ollie. He is a Border Collie. Everyone is captured by his striking looks in particular he piercing blue eyes. His unique colouring is due to the fact that he carries the 'blue merle' gene. He is a runner and will not stop all day if you let him. A game of chase is his most favorite thing in the world, closely followed by a cuddle on the couch. He is the ideal dog to be used to make sure your pooches are well exerted and will sleep soundly afterwards.

It’s time to meet Hikes ‘N’ Hounds resident dogs.

Meet Bella. She is an English Springer Spaniel. She is very attentive and will interact with all dogs. She is especially considerate with younger dogs and will allow them to be entertained by her to a point but then will let them know when it has been enough. A great thing to have in a dog that is used to help introduce puppies and juvenile dogs to doggy body language. She also loves a game of fetch and will make any dog or human fall in love with it too when they watch her have as much fun as she does.

Happy international pet groomer appreciation day!

As pet owners we entrust some of the most valuable parts of our lives, our pets, to people who help us keep their teeth, hair, skin etc. as happy and healthy as they are. They work above and beyond for our pets best interest, and they don’t always get the credit they deserve.

Did you know we can offer you group walks even if your dog lives alone in your home?

We have two resident dogs that are extremely social with dogs of all ages.

Or if your dog has a neighborhood buddy, get in touch with us as we may be able to offer discounts on multiple dogs that live in the same house/same street that are able to walk together at the same time.

Did you know that we can also help you with basic training whilst on our walks? If you feel like you can't have your dog walked by us because they might not have the best recall ever or they do not react well when they see another dog; then you should reconsider.

Even the socialisation or "exposure' to all of these experiences can help bring your dogs training forward. Get in touch if you think we could help you !

Long-line leads can be a great tool to use on walks with dogs who struggle to focus or have issues with recall. If your dog needs a little extra help/supervision but you still want them to enjoy the feeling of ‘running free’ we have plenty of ways such as this to tailor your dogs walks to their personal needs!
