👏 What a brilliant day of cross country at Badminton Horse Trials!
🏇 Six combinations were clear in the time and there are three riders with both their horses in the top 10 - Oliver Townend (Official), Ros Canter Eventing and Fox-Pitt Eventing.
We are delighted to hear that Nicola Wilson Eventing is stable after her nasty fall and wish her all the best for her recovery.

The dressage phase of is now complete with the top 10 remaining rather unchanged other than storming into the lead with London 52 & a score of 21.0 😱👏🏼 Its a seriously testing XC course out there (pics in our stories coming soon) so it will be interesting to see how the leaderboard looks this time tomorrow! 🐎🏆

A fantastic first day of dressage kicked off the 2022 Badminton Horse Trials today & some whopping results were scored! An exciting session before lunch & a fantastic score for American Tamra Smith left her in 2nd behind Tom McEwen Eventing & Olympic Champion Toldedo De Kerser who’s score was 23.4. However the afternoon session saw more brilliant scores being posted, leaving it a British 1, 2, 3 currently, with Kitty King Eventing & Vendredi Biats in 2nd & Luhmuehlen champions Mollie Summerland Eventing & Charly Van Ter Heiden in a close 3rd! All to play for tomorrow with more big names left to come! 🐎💃🏼🏆

❓Did you know that the consultation “Improvements to Equine Identification and Traceability in England” is now live, giving UK horse owners a once-in-a-lifetime chance to have a say about the future for horse passports, health and welfare.

There are two ways for you to have your views heard:

1️⃣ The British Horse Council has made it easy for the UK’s 750,000+ horse owners to respond to their own short survey, now live at www.britishhorsecouncil.org and takes 5-10 minutes and closes 20 May: https://www.smartsurvey.co.uk/s/HORSEPASSPORTS/

2️⃣ Defra’s full technical consultation will take you 30-40 minutes, now live here and closes 28 June: https://consult.defra.gov.uk/equine-id-and-movement/improvements-to-equine-id-and-traceability-in-engl/

So, if you have views on the future for paper passports, how they are updated, whether going digital is an option, what happens if disease takes hold, you are worried about breeding and pedigree information or troubled by enforcement – get your views heard.

🐎🤩Badminton 5* Course Walk with William Fox-Pitt Eventing! 🤩🐎
William is riding 2 horses at this year’s Badminton CCI5* & will again be holding a course walk for you to join on the Friday! 🤩 Last time we joined (2019 feels like a VERY long time ago!) I was absolutely amazed by everything William had to say, focusing on exactly where he wanted his horse’s placing to be on takeoff, each marker he would use for each fence to gain the right line & what would catch his horse’s eye at each obstacle 🤯 to then watch him ride 2 foot perfect clears the next day was just incredible & I would highly recommend this experience to anyone & everyone! 🤩 More info & booking via the link below!

🏆🤩The 2022 Badminton Entries have been published! This is the first time the event will be taking place since 2019 and we are so excited to watch the action as some of the world's best combinations tackle the famous Badminton contest! 🐎

The Olympic team gold medallists will be competing against each other at 5-star level for the first time since the trio won Gold in Tokyo last year: Tom McEwen rides his individual silver medallist Toledo de Kerser, world number one Oliver Townend has Ballaghmor Class and Laura Collett rides London 52. Oliver has also entered dual Kentucky winner Cooley Master Class and exciting new ride Swallow Springs, previously the mount of Andrew Nicholson.

The reigning World champion, Ros Canter and her wonderful veteran Allstar B will be returning to Badminton and the European champion, Nicola Wilson, makes her debut on the spectacular JL Dublin, a prolific winner at 4-star level.

The last winner of Badminton, in 2019, was Piggy March riding the gallant mare Vanir Kamira and the partnership is heading back to defend their title. Piggy also has Brookfield Inocent, her European team gold and individual silver medallist. Other leading British combinations include European bronze medallists Sarah Bullimore and Corouet, Pippa Funnell and her 2019 Burghley winner, MGH Grafton Street, Mollie Summerland and Charly van Ter Heiden, winners of Luhmuhlen last year, plus Kitty King (Vendredi Biats), Kristina Cook (Billy the Red), William Fox-Pitt (Little Fire and Oratorio) and Zara Tindall (Class Affair).

The Badminton prize fund is the largest at 5-star level this year, with £100,000 to the winner. A strong international field, with 13 nations represented, is headed by New Zealand's Jonelle and Tim Price, who are ranked second and third in the world. Jonelle is entered with her 2018 winner Classic Moet and Grovine de Reve and Tim has the hugely experienced Ringwood Sky Boy and Xavier Faer. 🐎🤩🏆
