Young Axel ❤️ I first met this lovely boy last week. Initially a little barky when I first came into his home (standard German Shepherd) he soon settled so I could have chat with Mum and boost his confidence around a stranger (Me) he can also be a little mouthy and jumpy, kind of standard puppy behaviour; so we covered some techniques to reduce that.
We have started working on building confidence/socialisation around scary stuff. Starting in a supermarket car park, then getting closer to the busier areas. It was windy and rainy, which can have a huge effect, but he remained under threshold and Mum and big Sis were amazing by keeping calm and recognising when to give him space.
We ran out of treats at one point, Mum went into the supermarket to get some chicken, so big Sis worked on a hand touch exercise to keep Axel busy. He remained focused and calm, even with people passing by 🙂
Next step, a park around other dogs.

I don't have as much time to update the page lately, but there is stuff going on behind the scenes. Here are some of the beauts I have started working with. I will start to post their individual journeys.

I have constantly been changing Scout's food, due to her being a fussy little madam. I was constantly chucking food away and as I only feed her wet food/freeze dried (due to having bloat last year)it was becoming very expensive! I have changed her to Pure Pet Food and she is absolutely loving it. She is full of energy again (maybe too much) and her skin conditions seem to have improved as I went for the no chicken recipes. I am also saving £40 a month! I have a code if anybody would like to try it.

Scout normally loves bouncing about in the rain for ages, but she was certainly happy to get home and dried today. She hops straight on the towel and lays or sits down, she will also turn when asked.

A fantastic session with this lovely boy and his Mum. He can be a little bouncy around visitors, so we covered marking and rewarding for paws on the floor. He can also become a little overstimulated on walks, leading biting and jumping. We worked on a focus exercise, loose lead game and also reward placement to keep those paws on the ground. A very productive session 🙂
