I always recommend keeping a packet of baby wipes handy and just giving your dog a wipe over after they've been out. Especially in this heat!

We worry about heatstroke, and rightly so! Temperatures like we are seeing this week are dangerous for many pets.

Fly strike is another potential summer hazard. A dog with diarrhoea, especially if hairy can get a dirty bottom! And that’s how the process begins. Maggots can burrow through skin and make a pet so seriously ill. So check those bottoms and keep them clean!

I have been blown away with the results of the Peanut & Pickle shed it mud mask! This stuff is amazing! Not only is it helping with getting all that dead coat out, its leaving coats feeling very soft and shiny. Photos of all the hair in the comments.

I'm still doing my introductory half price offer on the mud mask treatment until the end of April!!

Little rant about last minute cancellations and late payments... these severely impact my small business.

I've suffered last minute cancellations to the value of almost £300 this month alone, imagine having that taken from your pay each month. Then I'm currently waiting on payments to be received to the value of almost £200. So, month end when most direct debits come out, I'm at a loss of £500. Like everyone else I still have bills to pay, and supplies to replenish.

It's also Crufts next week, so I'm taking a day off on Friday (which is loss of potential earnings) to invest in myself to be able to provide an even better service to you and your dogs, by watching demos, upgrading tools and seeing what other equipment I could get to make your dogs more comfortable. So every penny matters.

I appreciate all those that make immediate payment. However, if this continues I will have to insist on either prepayment or cash on collection.

I understand that sometimes there are emergencies that may require you to cancel your appointments, and in those instances I will absorb those losses, but if it is not an emergency I will have to enforce my cancellation policy, an updated copy of which is going to be distributed to everyone from next week. X

This is just too cute not to share! 😍 Little Lucy is 5 months old and has been coming to me every 4 to 5 weeks for a bath and tidy since she was fully vaccinated, doing this makes such a huge difference to how dogs react to grooming. Lucy enjoys seeing me, she happily walks into my salon, isn’t phased by the dryer and stands when I need her to. Lucy has learnt to rest her head in the palm of my hand whilst I scissor her face, and as you can see she is totally relaxed. 😴

Fleas are upon us...🪳 With the weather warming up, and dogs in the long grass more often, it's really important to check your animals and keep on top of treatment. I do charge £10 extra for dogs with fleas, due to the extra cleaning and flea bombs, not to mention it's unpleasant to work with dogs with fleas. Scratch that itch 🪳🪳🪳

Buddy here likes to snooze during his grooms 😴 Buddy has been coming to me since he was a puppy on a regular schedule, and it honestly makes such a difference for their grooming experience during their adult life. Was it always this easy? No, we had to adapt. As a puppy we had to have the drier on lower settings, he had to have a few breaks from the table during being groomed, he needed positive reinforcement.
