FLEA AND WORM PREVENTION...
To understand why it’s so important to use natural prevention we need to know a little more about chemical flea and powerfulworm treatments and how they work. Chemicals flea and tick treatments are toxic pesticides that accumulate in your dogs blood and skin, Ticks and fleas have to bite and suck your dogs blood before becoming paralysed and dying from the pesticides. It can take many hours for the fleas and ticks to be killed in which time they could still spread disease.
These powerful chemical pesticides can also cause neurological issues in our dogs, in September 2018 the FDA put a warning on Isoxazoline flea and tick products because they have been associated with neurological adverse reactions in dogs that have no medical history for these issues, side effects range from, seizures, convulsions, skin disorders, ataxia and even death!! Here are some of the Isoxazoline products.

Using a natural prevention is much safer and equally effective if done properly, the main differences using natural prevention is you aim to repel fleas and ticks so they don’t go on to your dog in the first place, with chemical treatments they have to bite and suck your dogs blood before being killed! Yuk!
To prevent worms you can use ground raw pumpkin seeds in their food. Pumpkin seeds are from the GOURD family they contain an amino acid call cucurbitin this paralyses and eliminates worms. You can fresh garlic (yes garlic is safe for dogs in small quantities) feed half a teaspoon per 10kg of dog, always use fresh garlic chop and leave to sit for 15mins to release the allicin, do not feed garlic to pups under 6 months, pregnant or whelping bi***es and Japanese breeds, always check medications. VermX herbal biscuits or liquid can also be used as a preventative measure for worms. Any kind of foods or treats with fur still attached is a great natural wormer. Its important to do a worm count this is a simple p**p test, it is inexpensive and very easy to do from wormcount.com, never chemically worm a dog before doing a worm count to first check if they need worming.
To protect against fleas and ticks neem oil and neem and neem powder are all very effective used topically on your dogs coat! Always dilute neem oil and don’t use for pregnant or whelping bi***es or breeding dogs as it may act as a contraceptive. Apple cider vinegar water mix spritzer is also a good flea and tick repellent you can also mix in a few drops of essential oils like lavender, lemongrass, eucalyptus and patchouli. Greens for healthy pets does a great spray called don’t bug me! Greens also have lots of other natural options like Hedge row hounds this is great mix called natures bounty add to food keep the fleas and ticks away, Biospotix do natural spot ons and collars, Herbal dog co do a natural spot on treatment, Billy no mates is also a good choice. Food grade diatomaceous earth is made from tiny sea creatures it dehydrates the parasites and their eggs so they die. Make sure you buy FOOD GRADE care should be taken not to breath in the powder by you or your pet. It can be used to sprinkle around the home to kill parasite and their eggs. Dust DE powder through coat if fleas are present then shampoo out taking care not to let your dog breath it in. It Amber collars are great they create a magnetic charge over the dogs coat keeping the fleas and ticks off! Using an amber collar alongside other preventatives works great. There really is no need to use powerful chemical pesticides on you pet when natural prevention works equally as well and is completely safe 🐶❤️ By karla pearson
