Pixie arrived last week and we have since found out she jumped out a window when younger and has had regular seizures (one yesterday witnessed by her fosterer 😿 and it was over 3 minutes). She also appears to be completely blind. She has already been to our vet and will start investigations next week, which will include a head scan and possibly an X ray to see what damage was done. She will be neutered, chipped and vaccinated once she is well enough. This is the first cat we have had with such a serious injury and not to have been on any medication is shocking. Thank goodness she’s with us now and will get all the help she needs.

Chilled 😎 Chilli has had no interest yet. He’s approximately 3 years old and was abandoned after an eviction. But lucky for him, lovely neighbours noticed and kept him fed while awaiting help.

He is fine with other cats and likes children. Needs a garden.

Pepper and Turmeric were found abandoned in a carrier and handed into a vet. They are 6 months+ and thought to be sisters. They will be neutered, chipped and start vaccinations next week. They are lovely little cats and will be looking for a home with a garden as a pair.

We are greatful to vet practices who take in strays and unwanted cats. It’s not easy as we know that so many are being abandoned at this time.

Three lovely young friendly cats all strays and now looking for their forever homes with garden (not indoor only).

Chilli is a ginger and white boy abandoned after an eviction 6 weeks ago. A window fitter noticed them and his partner happened to be a fosterer a few years ago. Laura from RSPCA went to trap him as was very confused but just 1 week and he’s full of confidence and taking over his foster home. 😹

Stella a little black girl is so sweet and arrived pregnant. Her kittens have all gone to new homes now and she will be ready for adoption next week once neutered and post op check.

Dash is a long hair black and white. He was being fed my multiple people but no owner came forward. He arrived nervous but absolutely loves cuddles now. He would especially love a family with children and a big garden.

Phip, a stray, was brought into Anwell Veterinary Centre on October 25th. He was very thin, with a distended abdomen and a heart murmur, though he remained bright and ate well. Initial tests revealed moderate non-regenerative anemia, mildly elevated white blood cells, and globulins suggesting inflammation or infection. An FIV/FELV snap test was negative.

An abdominal ultrasound showed free fluid but no evidence of cancer, and his organs appeared normal. Differential diagnoses included heart failure (due to the murmur), liver disease, cancer, or Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP). A heart scan revealed a congenital heart defect (atrial septal defect) causing right-sided heart enlargement. Diuretics were prescribed to manage suspected heart failure.

Over the weekend, Phip’s condition worsened with fever and inappetence, raising concerns about FIP. Blood and fluid samples were sent for testing, and he was started on GS-441524 tablets for FIP. Remarkably, within three days, he improvedβ€”eating better and with reduced abdominal fluidβ€”strongly suggesting FIP. A PCR test confirmed FIP, though he may also have concurrent right-sided heart failure.

FIP treatment, though costly, has a high success rate of over 85% with a 12-week course. Phip has been on treatment for over four weeks and is eating well and gaining weight. However, his abdominal fluid persists, possibly linked to his heart defect, confirmed by a recent scan showing mild to moderate fluid and right-sided heart enlargement.

We urgently need donations to cover Phip’s treatment costs. Every cat under our care gets the best chance, regardless of their condition.

Part bengal, Brynie arrived as a stray and is still very young, thought to be under 1 years old. She is a very inquisitive cat, loves to play with her toys and will gently playfight and likes to licks you.

Say hello to Prin who is around two years old, neutered, chipped and fully vaccinated.

From the few weeks we’ve spent with her we can tell she’d enjoy a quiet environment with lots of love. She is very happy in the company of adults and would thrive in a secure forever home and garden.

She’s such a sweet girl with a playful character who would make a beautiful companion.

Meet one year old Phoebe. She was found abandoned with 3 new born kittens and half starved. The kittens are gradually going to their forever homes which leaves Phoebe without a new home.
