This is something a lot of practitioners including myself has incorporated into our line of work.
The benefits of this:
- Provides a more objective assessment of the performance of your horse.
- Able to assess areas which are unable to be picked up by the naked eye ๐๏ธ
- Able to observe any improvement or issues which may be highlighted in the gait analysis.
- Offers an overall analysis of the horse, enabling us to observe the stride length, hoof placement, head carriage, tail placement and thoracolumbar movement.
Gait analysis is always used prior to any treatment as a part of our dynamic assessment of the horse.

Through working with the owner closely there was a recognised elevation of the thoracolumbar epaxial pressure points this visit, where we have a much happier horse.
Her posture has changed and movements under saddle which is brilliant!
Regular soft tissue treatment and stretches has enabled the paraspinal muscle to be less reactive and improve suppleness.

Tail pulls are good balancing exercises by stimulating the pelvic stabiliser muscles (๐๐ช๐ค๐ฆ๐ฑ ๐ง๐ฆ๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ณ๐ช๐ด, ๐๐ฆ๐ฏ๐ด๐ฐ๐ณ ๐๐ข๐ด๐ค๐ช๐ข ๐๐ข๐ต๐ข๐ฆ, ๐๐ญ๐ถ๐ต๐ฆ๐ถ๐ด ๐๐ถ๐ฑ๐ฆ๐ณ๐ง๐ช๐ค๐ช๐ข๐ญ๐ช๐ด )and activating the horses core.

Jax is now at week 7 of his rehabilitation programme.
The progress from Week 4- Week 7 is surreal.
Jax had a treatment at week 4, Myofascial release was used on the compensatory areas where the Photizo Red Light was used across the surgical site to reduce inflammation and promote healing.
His owner has been following his rehabilitation plan closely where he has continued to show improvements.
The fascia edge tool helps to relieve muscles which have become fibrous and sore.
Deep massage helps to break up fibrosis and restore normal circulation to the tissues.

Here you will see the fascia edge being used along the longisimus dorsi, latissimus dorsi and flexor tendons where you will see a spasm is evident.

This is Rio, he is my horse which is where my passion for the use of the Photizo red light comes from.
The Photizo red light was utilised two months post surgery due to inflammation across the surgical site.
At the start you will see the incision with staples in, once staples have been taken out and then eventually now, Rio is now back in ridden work after 6 months recovery.

Yesterday I got to treat Jax, five weeks post Kissing Spine surgery. In March and we are getting โ๏ธโ๏ธ Less than 24 hours before I was schooling star in the sun โ๏ธ. She went beautifully yesterday โค๏ธ๐ฅฐ this little mare is such a sweetheart.
Sugar pie has had two treatments of Red Light therapy on her hocks this week where there has been a noticeable reduction in inflammation and heat around the joint.
