HOW TO START BRUSHING YOUR PETS TEETH - we know brushing is the best way to prevent dental disease in dogs. As Kevin is showing us, it can be an enjoyable daily activity and it can be started at any age...
Step 1 start by getting them use to touching their face and mouth, gently lifting their lips
Step 2 Slowly get them used to touching the inside of their mouth, treat and praise them after each session
Step 3 keep practicing! These steps can take weeks and sometimes months until they are comfortable, take your time!
Step 4 now you can try gently touching your pets teeth with a tooth brush, build up to brushing a couple of teeth at a time in a circular motion. Remember to praise and reward them after each session
Step 5 progress to brushing all the teeth, remember even when they are very used to it, they should still have a reward each time (Kevin enjoys his carrot after each session)
Step 6 finally add a little dog toothpaste to the brush when brushing
As of Monday 24th May our new extended and spacious reception area and consulting rooms will be complete!
Our clients are welcome to come indoors and because we are adhering to government social distancing measures we are asking that only one person per animal attend the surgery and we ask that masks (unless exempt) be worn at all times when indoors.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you for your patience and understanding during the building renovations and the covid restrictions.
The car park will remain a pedestrian area for a few more weeks whilst the exterior is completed before we can allow cars to enter and if any of our clients need assistance for themselves or for their animals with mobility issues please let us know so that we can allow you to drive in to the car park during the next few weeks.
We look forward to welcoming you back inside and hope you and your animals enjoy the new spacious environment as much as we do!
