Please can everyone remember to keep their dogs away from the flood waters.
Several posts today of people finding it amusing or think it's fine.
Several of our volunteers are assisting beneath the surface to retrieve another Leicestershire dog taken too soon due to this exact same thing.

Cold weather advice to follow with a little extra from me.....wash your dogs feet after pavement walks salt & grit is toxic if they lick their paws, but can also give sore, irritating paws!!!

This is something I don't often write about publicly.
Doing what I do with CEASaR and Doglost
I get see and hear about awful things that don't get seen on social media.
This one today, is on social media and I will mention it because I can't get it out of my head.
I question humanity a lot, and how we can have such cruel people amongst us.
To leave your dog behind, shut in with no food or water, to die slowly, desperately with no one to hear your cries, hold your paw and rescue you, you have to be the scum of all humanity. To hurt a defenceless living being that undoubtedly loved you unconditionally.
May karma find you...........

Can you all do something for me tonight?
I want you to give your dogs an extra cuddle tonight, that's all, and think of a dog that died today.
This dog had probably never felt love, a tender touch or been cuddled.
Each extra cuddle will find its way to her as she journeys over the rainbow bridge🌈 💔

As I go home for Christmas and New Year, there is no longer a need to put my tree up and it feels miserable.
