Introducing Oreo
His lovely family sought help following a bite incident whilst trying to retrieve a stolen item from Oreo.
This lovely boy is a bit of a thief and would try and steal a huge range of items, including toy cars and home furnishings.
His family were keen to understand how to manage Oreo easier and booked our Boot Camp Plus, a series of 6 home consultations.
I was quickly able to assess his behaviour and put together a training programme which helped to teach Oreo a different way to play and showed his family a different way to handle him.
Behaviours like this can quickly escalate so it is about devaluing stolen items and avoiding confrontation.
Oreo has worked hard to develop his impulse control, he has worked hard on relaxing in his safe area and he has worked hard on learning to interact differently.
Has it been easy........no
Have there been hiccups along the way.........absolutely
But is this family looking forward to a better relationship with their dog..........100%
These types of training programmes are hard, they require you to look at ways you handle behaviours, they require you to look at your dog differently and they require trust in me to guide you through the training programme.
I am thrilled with the progress this boy has made, and whilst his training and management will be ongoing , I have no doubt that Oreo will continue to be a much loved part of this family.
Wwwweeeeeeee just look at lovely Bailey stretching those big long legs of hers in our secure playground at the weekend 😍
It’s a little muddy, but it’s also fully secure, full of enrichment obstacles and available to book throughout the Christmas holidays via my website

👏 CLIENT SHOUT OUT 👏
These lovely girls in pink are Hattie and Pepsi, a pair of Pomapoo’s who’s walks were difficult, stressful and a little noisy…….
Luckily the girls dedicated owners sought help and booked Sound Hounds boot camp so they could learn how to manage the girls more easily.
Pepsi (the younger dog) would become extremely over stimulated on her walks and would bark at Hattie constantly, jump on and try to grab at her throughout the walk. She would also bark and lunge at other dogs and found her walks completely mind blowing.
In this situation it would be easy to get tough on Pepsi and pull her away with the lead, but that type of negative training would simply be addressing the symptoms of the behaviour, not the motivation behind it.
I was quick to establish that Pepsi had over bonded with Hattie, she was lacking independence and struggled to manage her arousal levels and impulse control.
I first set about reducing her dependence on Hattie and helped her to engage more with her owners through play. We worked on introducing boundaries at home and looked at a relationship building programme.
We then introduced calm responses around her harness/lead being fitted and leaving the house before taking the games and training away from home.
Our final session worked on taking the girls out together…………..
This video shows the huge amount of progress Pepsi and Hattie have made and I am delighted that the girls are able to enjoy walks together and their owners feel more relaxed and able to manage them easier.
Training programmes are hard, they are time consuming and require dedication and patience, but unwanted behaviours can be worked through, it’s about discovering the triggers and working through each part of the programme thoroughly…….there are no quick fixes.
Well done girls, I am super proud of your progress so far 👏💕👌
👏 CLIENT SHOUT OUT 👏
This may not look like much, but this video shows the amount of time, effort and dedication this owner has put into changing their dogs behaviour 👏
This is Chester, a young working Sprocker who has gone a bit off the rails.
This lovely boy has a strong work drive but had become self employed and enjoys chasing birds, wildlife and searching the bushes.
Whilst this was great fun for him, his lack of engagement and response to his owners was making their walks together unpleasant and frustrating.
Being pulled about at the end of a long line was hurting his owners arms and shoulders and they were becoming reluctant to walk him.
Over the past 4 sessions I have implemented engagement and relationship building games. We have worked in quiet areas, we have built the stimulus slowly and we have kept everything fun and positive.
Here is Chester experiencing a trip to a local park, this would have been impossible a few weeks age, but just look at his response and enthusiasm to check back to his owner.
I absolutely love seeing videos like this, I love knowing that dogs and owners are starting to work together as a team and I love hearing that their walks are becoming a pleasure.
Training programmes are a long hard labour of love, but I am sure that with my guidance and support Chester will soon be off his line and able to enjoy longer walks with his owners.
