kitten bites head
Another head muncher. Reeva Rae is at it now!!
head grazer
You don't know whether to laugh or cry at Xiomara's antics. She is a real hoot.
kittens first time out of pen.
It's all go in the kitten room tonight. I cleaned and steamed the carpets at early doors so that these three could have their first real gallop about. SaBreena is about ready to drop. You can always tell, she is being super sweet to the babies. Might be in for a long night?!
Kittens first meal
Not the most conventional way to feed babies, however, they were refusing the milky rice point blank, so I opted for a tray of Annimonda kitten patè and I believe they were very ready to use those tiny gnashers of theirs.
I do have to say that the Tortie took 15ml of milk before scoffing the meat. They did about 40g between three. Not bad for their first meat feast!
gazoo noise
Gazoo noise for you all... Baaabaaaa
galloping tiny kitten
Maelings are galloping.... love it!
Cat chatting
Bird TV is always a huge hit. Reeva Rae is taking it very seriously indeed. What a little chatter box!
Gazoolings 2024
Gazoo getting fit
Do run run run, you do run run....
Gazoolings are well again
The GAZOOLINGS are feeling much brighter on their new medication. We can now confirm, due to how they have reacted to the meds, that it is Bacterial not Viral.
It will be a very long wait until the course is finished before they can have their vaccines, but it will be worth it.
Just look at them thrashing each other!!! They have all gained weight, are VERY bright and active again and no swoops of fevers or chills.
I feel very lucky I have a great vet.
milky boat
All aboard the milky boat for the Maelings <3
*Post face wash video.
Poorly Babies
The Gazoolings have been poorly with a bug. They are under veterinary supervision at Broad Lane Vets Coventry and we have also had support from Greylands Cat Clinic with excellent ideas.
They just WON'T EAT and I have force fed them, which in itself I find terribly distressing, but needs must. They have maintained weight, kept great colour, their tummies are solid and no one has been physically sick. It's a huge distress to watch them go from a raging temperature to freezing cold in a snap.
However, after the administration of new medication to counteract the sickness, we have improvements and everyone feels much brighter and able to eat on their own.
It will obviously take some time for them to gain weight and feel more like kittens than flat pancakes and already, as I type this, I can hear them thundering about upstairs.
Unfortunately, due to the fact there is nothing to test, no snotty noses or eyes, the vet has nothing to swab. It is not indicative of any big viruses and for that we are truly grateful.
Looking at them bouncing about today lifts my heart immensely and makes me hope and pray that I never have to administer fluids or force feed them ever again.... well, I can hope!!
milky bar
It's a busy day in the nursery with the Maelings. The white girl gets very feisty around her syringe feeds, so we take a little break. The white boy is lapping his milky, but when the white girl around, he drinks it up fast. The tortie is an angel face.
