✨Hermanns tortoise✨
Hermanns Tortoises are again becoming popular, though their housing requirements have changed drastically from how they were kept in the past.
As a general rule, tortoises do not like being picked up.
They don’t feel safe when their feet are off the ground and can lunge forward causing them to fall. If they are dropped, it can crack and damage their shell.
Contrary to popular belief, they have many nerve endings just under the shell, so can feel everything that happens to their shells. The shell of the tortoise actually contains more nerve endings than under your finger nails, so they can feel everything you do to their shells.

✨Giant African Land Snails✨
These ones aren't so giant yet as they as the babies of big mama!
Giant African Land snails have long been a favourite pet. They are easy to house, feed and are fun to handle.
As well as a diet of select fruits, flowers, veggies, herbs and plenty of calcium (Cuttlefish bone, calcium cake and even crushed up snails eggs!)
These guys were having a snack of Protein day yesterday.
Land snails actually need a certain amount of protein to help keep their muscle mass at the optimum level. Too much protein can give them too much muscle and can result in their body becoming too large for their shell. Protein should be offered at 20 - 25% twice a week. Special snail mixes can be purchased or you can offer foods such as:
Bloodworm
Pinkie mice
Mince meat
Dead insects
Dried mealworm
A small amount of fish food.
Fun fact 💭: They have a reputation for being slow movers but can move at the same speed as an average human walks.

✨Socotra Island Blue Baboon✨
A desert species found on “Socotra Island” which is the main island within group of islands in the Indian ocean which are south of the Arabian Peninsula. They are an excellent display species as they are very prolific webber’s covering the enclosure and decor with heavy web which they also shelter in.
Fun fact 💭:They are one of very few tarantula species that can be kept communally.
Due to their defensive nature and slight attitude problem they are for experienced keepers only.
We have a communal group of 5 Socotras at KBN who are absolutely beautiful!
