⭐️⭐️⭐️ Cover-cote blades ⭐️⭐️⭐️

I'll be honest........I have been very narrow minded about Cover-cotes, as I remember trying an old brand of these many years ago, and found the finish not great

Some of the other professional clippers in NI have been using them and getting great results, and were telling me how impressed they were with them

So, today I got asked to do this stunning lad and decided to break out the covercote blades that were kindly sent to me ages ago from the Liveryman team. They went so smoothly through the hair, with no resistance, and left an absolutely beautiful finish!!

I guess one is never done learning in this game!

I normally clip out with a medium blade a few weeks before a show, but with these, I would prob recommend 1 week before a show

⚠️ Cancellation Charges⚠️

I have never had to apply charges for cancellations before, even though it is common justified practice

Unfortunately I am going to have to consider this, or taking booking deposits, as this month I have had over 10 cancellations already!!

While sometimes these are unavoidable, most of the time, it is for simple reasons like, I forgot to clean my horse!

When self employed, we don't get paid sick days, we don't get paid holidays etc, so any money lost comes directly out of our income

Imagine going to work in January, after spending a lot of money over Christmas on your family, then your boss sends you home 10 times and says he doesn't need you........you probably wouldn't be long leaving the job

I am a single working parent with 4 kids to raise, this is expensive at the best of times, but a lot more expensive when losing a hefty percentage of income

While I get Jan can be a struggle for some people......if that's the case, just don't book in until you are in a position to afford it. I would never do it to my farrier, never have, never will, and always pay him as soon as he is finished shoeing

I am not changing anything atm, but if I have many more cancellations this month, I will be forced to change things in February.....which I don't want to do

This isn't aimed to annoy anyone, moreso to give people some insight as to why I might have to change my booking policies

I feel I should share an appreciation post to the team at Masterclip. I have used Masterclip Clippers for many years, and have always been impressed at how helpful the team are, and how easy it is to order parts etc

The one thing I love, is how QUICK they are to help! I had a small technical issue with my HD Roamers (very rare to have anything wrong with these, as they are a major workhorse, but with ALL clipping brands, from time to time you will encounter something.......just like cars)

After contacting the team yesterday morning to explain........they had a brand new set on my doorstep this morning!!!!

How is that for customer service!!!!!

I will be opening 2025 diary for bookings on Dec 23rd

I realise there are people want to book ahead now, but if I take bookings to early at this time of year, it usually leads to a lot of reorganisation as people tent to chop and change appointments which takes up a lot of time trying to reorganise diary

I will put a reminder post up on 23rd. January is actually very busy for me believe it or not, so if you book an appointment, try to stick with it, as there won't be much space to rearrange

As always, I am very grateful for all my return customers every year, and hope you all have a great Christmas 🙂
