Making things better together! When our pets exhibit problematic behaviour it can be extremely upsetting, especially when they are normally such loving companions in the absence of the problem evoking stimulus. Many beh
aviour problems manifest because of boredom or a lack of stimulation although many more serious behaviour problems are caused by fear, anxiety or frustration. Addressing emotionally charged dog behaviour problems normally requires specific behaviour modification, practical training and above all, time and effort, but it is a journey that is well worth taking. Together with professional support from our Certified Dog Behaviour Consultant (CDBC) Al Rankin BSc (Hons), even the most difficult behaviour problems can be improved or resolved. Al is certified with the International Association of Animal Behaviour Consultants and an expert in addressing fears, anxieties and building confidence in dogs. He provides Dog & Puppy Training classes in Lisburn, Banbridge, Lurgan and Portadown, individual training within 30 minutes of Moira and Behaviour Modification Services throughout Northern Ireland.

Separation Anxiety is an emotional rollercoaster but most of the hard work is done at the early stages - being able to build the time alone from 0 seconds to 60 minutes is a huge achievement. It get's easier from now! Well done

Hey folks - our next Rowdy to Relaxed Class starts on Sunday 13 October at 10:00 in our Portadown venue. For Reactive Dogs
Join our specialist reactive dog class where we will develop alternative behaviours to the barking and lunging you are experiencing as well as working to modify the emotions that drive reactive dog behaviour.
Not only will you learn expert handling skills that will help to keep your dog relaxed, you will also learn about the function of your dog's behaviour, their reactivity threshold, what other things are influencing the behaviour and the impact of accumulative exposure on reactive behaviour. This knowledge and skill is vital for helping your dog and achieving lasting behaviour change moving forward.
Your dog will learn how to relax in the presence of other dogs, how to achieve the same function from alternative behaviours and a number of new skills that they can use to diffuse conflict or tension with other dogs; they will learn that calm and relaxed behaviour is the most beneficial.
This is a unique 9 week course delivered by Al Rankin BSc (Hons) CDBC who is our expert Dog Behaviour Consultant certified by the International Association of Animal Behaviour Consultants.
Al specialises in canine aggressive behaviour and has helped many hundreds of dog-owner teams enjoy calm and reaction free walks through the application of science based force free training techniques that are not only effective, but great fun as well!
You will both receive expert training and support throughout your journey towards your behaviour change goals.
Payment options available - contact us to find out more.

Today we spoke to the first of many MLAs to highlight how prong collars and electric shock collars already contravene animal welfare legislation so itβs time to step up and ban them all together.
This morning we met with Robbie Butler MLA and Tom Elliott MLA to raise awareness around the use of aversive tools in the pet dog training industry and how there is a need to improve the enforcement of the animal welfare legislation.
There will be a lot more conversations to come!

has only gone and done it again - this time we have achieved 10 minutes of isolation. She is coping very well!! Well done and keep up the great work!

have managed their first big milestone on the journey towards her being content when left home alone. Isolation training is difficult, but with patience, 3 or 4 seconds can turn into 3 or 4 hours and we are able to stop that feeling of being stuck in our own homes. Keep up the great work!
Well done to for completing their 5 minute milestone on their separation anxiety journey. 5 minutes is a huge achievement for dogs that were unable to tolerate even a few seconds alone. It get's easier as we progress.
Happy New Year to all of our friends, followers, clients and of course their best friends. πΎπ
