Most of you know Poppy, our senior treat tester 🐶

As Poppy is a neutered Labrador and absolutely loves her food, she can be prone to weight gain. She’s also heading towards her senior years now! Poppy has been on our Peptide+ Weight Control and Joint Care for a while now and it has shown many benefits! ✅

Whether your dog is fed raw, kibble, cold pressed or wet food, there are many ways to make it more exciting and healthy for your dog!

🎃 Pumpkin Puree is super healthy and provides immune boosting nutrients. It also is a natural prebiotic to support those sensitive tummies!

🥛 Goats milk is a tasty addition and it is a great way to provide fatty acids that support their joints and bones, as well as being packed with electrolytes, vitamins and minerals!

🔵 Blue spirulina and fat free Greek yogurt are a simple but tasty combination that looks amazing! Blue spirulina has benefits such as boosting the immune system, improving digestion and reducing allergies to name a few! Fat free Greek yogurt is also a great probiotic for dogs and is an easy way to hide medication!

⚖️It is reported that 65% of dogs are overweight or above their ideal weight! Excess weight can create significant problems for dogs, such as increased risk of diseases, functional impairment, shortened lifespan and reduced quality of life. This is why it is very important to monitor your dog's weight and their body condition score and make sure they are leading a healthy life! This diet could benefit your dog...

⛓️This recipe goes through a process called Freshtrusion HDP, which means that the meat is cooked in the presence of a natural enzyme. By doing this, it breaks down the meat into smaller pieces called di-peptides and tri-peptides, allowing the body to quickly and easily absorb it. The fish peptides present in this diet highly stimulate the secretion of appetite-suppressive molecules, leading to an increased feeling of satiety (feeling of fullness). The broken down peptides also increase flavour of the food. The collagen peptides present are a source of building blocks for the cartilage tissue. This can improve signs of canine osteoarthritis.

🧴The dog's skin and coat serve as immediate indicators of their health and wellbeing. Canine dermatological disorders are becoming a more common issue in small animal practice, with 15-30% of dogs affected.

🌾Dermatological problems can be due to a sensitivity or allergen to the protein in the diet. It is estimated that around 10% of dogs suffer from an allergy related to their food, such as grain or poultry. This is why this particular food is grain free and salmon based.

⛓️This recipe goes through a process called Freshtrusion HDP, which means that the meat is cooked in the presence of a natural enzyme. By doing this, it breaks down the meat into smaller pieces called di-peptides and tri-peptides, allowing the body to quickly and easily absorb it. 📣 Hairy treats! Why are they so good?

You’ll often hear us raving about hairy treats and for good reason… they’re great for your dog! But why?

🦷For starters, they’re great for dental health. The hairs can access places that good chews and even tooth brushes cannot reach (almost like flossing your teeth).

🐶They’re also a good source of fibre! It helps bulk up stools and can aid towards naturally expressing their a**l glands!

🧠 Fur contains a large amount of manganese which is necessary for brain and nerve function, so it’s an ideal way to make sure their brain is getting everything it needs!

🪱 And finally, they act as a brush through the digestive tract, clearing away any built up food. It also acts as a natural protection against worms, by brushing out any eggs or larvae. 👻 Spooky season is in full swing and I couldn’t be happier! 🥛Let’s make some Goats Milk Ice Treats! All you need is our Hackney Dog House Goats Milk Powder, water and an ice cube tray! Of course I just had to get pumpkin shaped moulds out again! 🥰 Goats Milk is beneficial as it helps keep bones and teeth strong, provides a hydration boost, is a delicious meal topper and is super tasty! Not sure if your dog will like Goats Milk and want to try before you buy? I’ve kept some of these ice treats in our freezer at Cramlington, why not pop along with your dog for a taster 😋 but be quick! I can imagine they won’t hang around long!
