Never known a horse that optionally would stop eating his haynet to get to his tack, I mean I know he has no patience but this is ridiculous he literally can't wait to go out.
Louie really getting the hang of things now. Xx
This lovely girl hasn't been schooled in 4 weeks die to the weather and holidays and the one day we had to school for the first time was my last day to enter my classes at dressage rider online.
A little excited in her first canter resulting ina small bronk, and abit to under the vertical in our canter left, but honestly heart of gold to work this nicely with so much time off.
I would be happy enough with any result considering we haven't prepped for this months Dressage Riders Online at all.
I am just obsessed with how up hill her canter is.
Wey we thought we would take taroq to todburn too,
Considering I only do schooling with him the max of twice a month he only went and scored a better score then Annie getting 30.2, 69.4%
On a double clear placing 5th.
It's been around 3 to 4 years since he attempted at cross country and he had a totaly break down the last time mid course, apart from shaking with nerves before we started he was foot perfect and once out on the course he was so rideable and enjoyed every minute.
Think I might be stealing him.next year for a couple more
Not going to lie I didn't think I was going to survive my first ride on Monday morning. When I pulled up to the yard and my ride was charging round fully tacked up slamming herself into a 5 bar gate rearing and trying to climb it to get back in the field, and just becasue this horse is backwards after I spent 15 minutes walking her round trying to calm her down. She calmed down the most once she got on the beach, completely backwards but at least we got back in one piece.
Busy day for journey yesterday, First time long lining on the road, first time in a sand arena, first time cantering on both reins, then to top it off she trotted under saddle for the first time without any issues.
Poor thing was knackered but I couldn't fault her even with a couple panic attacks. Which was totally understandable.
First time for journey to be off the lead rein, she definitely has some sass about her the first couple of attempts of asking her to stand she didn't want to then when i asked her to walk she didn't want to, basically she wanted to do everything off her back not when asked.
But happy to say she tried really hard to listen the last time I asked, without trying to be difficult.
Thrid time sitting on this mare and she's comfortable being asked to walk on and stop. Nearly off the lunge line. Feeling safe as houses.
First time out on the long lines too taking on dogs, cars, cyclelists, and other horses. And you would of thought she had done it 30 tines or more.
Still working on standing still to be mounted.
Our first attempt I put my foot in the stirrup he tried rushing off and when I asked him to stand he started belting backwards violently like he was about to rear, running into things and spinning.
Once I was on he would nap sideways to the field.
This is my thrid time riding ripo, first time we have done no ground work and got straight on so he worked himself a little bit.
But at least when I put my foot in the stirrup and asked him to stand he did with out having a break down then let me get on quietly.
He schooled beautifully today learning to go up a gait while tying to maintain a contact.
Since he couldn't stand to save his life when I first worked with him, so we done trot to stand which he nailed.
Finally felt him starting to travel forward through his back instead of trotting like a pony
.
Bloopers I still can't believe this mare was scared of cantering and even when she got stuck between the jump she didn't even panic she just stepped out of the situation then still gave it another go afterwards
Second time jumping under saddle. Turns out trotting into a jump she doesn't even try so today was the first attempt at cantering in to fences, we got abit lost with the second fence but by god did she try, that back end can really come up.
Second time on this mare, we had our first little walk round the field, I felt that comfortable I managed to video it from under saddle. Such a good pony.
Getting a little lost today on mine and taroqs adventures.
Foot perfect going through difficult terrain jumping off to move branch's and jumping ditches, hoping back on from the floor which I don't do often as I am not as good at it anymore but taroq stood like a rock while I dragged my fat arse up onto him lol. Then had a lovely tootle home.
Can't believe how solid this pony is. 2 weeks off only 5th session and she's standing like a rock in a open field to be mounted with dogs running round and nothing stopping her buggering off if she wanted.
Second time long lining and double lining and she's near enough nailed it.
She's going to be a cracking pony for a kid some day.
Elli had a bit of a spring in her step yesterday. Starting off our schooling session with a rear leap gallop and bronk.
She finished with one of the best canter we have had. Looking forward to seeing how she fairs at benridge dressage league next month
Schooling session with luna working more on the poles to try and get a more consistent trot, and our first canter together which just happened and she loved it.
First jump on what Sarah likes to call the blonde bombshell, but what a fab mare she is. Just popping over them like they were nothing, not long ago she wouldn't even canter without panicking, bolting and bucking and now she's so layed back I have to push her on.
Thrid session and she's finally lunging confidently In walk and trot.
And yesterday was her first time on two lunges. Which she wasn't bothered about at all.
Shes coming along so quick considering Ia only up once a week, I think I will be on her in the next few weeks.
