Tick season has approached rapidly this year! They are a type of ectoparasite which means they attach themselves to your pets skin!☀️
It's a good idea to remove the whole tick from your pet BUT only with a tick hook. Without one you may accidentally damage the tick body resulting in parts being left behind!
You are more than welcome to contact us where one of our lovely nurses can assist you in removing the tick.🩺
⚠️Flea and tick medication does not make your dog or cat exempt from ticks, however it helps to kill the tick after it has latched on. But they must still be removed in this case.⚠️
Ticks are often found in areas of long grass and woodland, unfortunately our favourite dog walking routes! 🐾

Did you know there’s a dental disease that’s so common it is found in more than a third of adult cats? It’s called FORL’s (Feline Oral Resorptive Lesion) featured in this video. This is when cells called odontoclasts start to destroy the surface of the tooth. It starts underneath the gum, making it very difficult to diagnose. It’s also very painful.

Monty's got that Friday feeling😁
❓Did you know that dogs have more "fast-twitch" muscle fibres around their eyes and mouths than wolves allowing them to make facial expressions like this. This likely evolved to benefit human interactions!🐾🐶
Monty suffers from conjunctivitis where the membrane that lines the eyelid becomes inflamed and sore 👀
After his consultation he was showing off his skills catching a treat🐾
Any guesses as to where this little parasite could be found? 🐜
Hint: it's rhymes with "dear".
