A big thank you on behalf of Karla for all the kind comments & messages following her post yesterday. We know she’ll seek comfort & appreciate every single one of them.

We will be ‘holding the reins’ on the rescue for the time being, whilst we give Karla the space and well deserved break she needs. As stated, sadly we’ll be unable to take anymore cats in at this present time. However, we will still greatly appreciate donations of food & litter for the little ones still in our care.

Can we please ask you only message us currently through FB Messenger? Please bear with us though, we will get back to you as soon as possible. Thank you for your understanding & support.

Not the post I particularly wanted to make.

However due to my mental health, I will temporarily be taking a step back from the rescue.
We will continue to help as much as we can, but will be slowing down on intakes for a while.
The rescue has put a strain on myself and a few of the volunteers. So I need to do what is best for a period of time.
Thank you all for your understanding and continued support at this difficult time.

PLACEMENT SOURCED

‼️ FOSTER PLACEMENT NEEDED ‼️

Meet Bob!
Bob is 3 years old and desperately needs to come into our care.
We have been informed he is child, cat and dog friendly. He's very affectionate and loving.
His owner has been very brave, open and honest as to her reasons in needing him rehomed due to heroine addiction, (No hate please) and feels it would be fairer on him to have a home where he can get the love he wants, needs and deserves.
He still needs to be neutered, microchipped and vaccinated, however this will all be done in our care.

On the 17th of November, these five, 4-6 month old, scared babies were brought into our care after living in a colony outside.
Apart from being fed, they hadn't had much socialising.
They were very hissy and had no interest in being touched.

In less than 2 weeks, Twix was the bravest of them all and started allowing small touches, and it didn't take long for him to become a massive purr pot, loving all the love. Phoenix then slowly followed. And then Robin. Foxy and Badger have taken a little while longer, with Badger being accepting 2 days ago, but I can now say that in less than 4 weeks, all 5 of these little loves are now accepting fuss.
Badger and Twix have already got interest when they're ready.
They should be ready for their new homes by the end of January 25 Now that they can be handled, we will be getting them all health checked, vaccinated, neutered and microchipped in the New Year.

‼️ ALBUS IS HOME FOR CHRISTMAS ‼️

This morning was unexpected but absolutely wonderful, and I'm still crying happy tears and shaking!
A lovely lady commented on one of these shared post of Albus, and being that it wasn't far from where he jumped out of the van, in less than 10 minutes I was there looking.
Whilst walking around like a crazy person, armed with Dreamies, he appeared under my car.
He had no interest in saying hello. Out came the dreamies.
He then went into a bush. Out came some wet food.
Then under a van.
Whilst patiently waiting for his lovely owner Samantha Robins he darted off around the corner, however Albus recognised her voice immediately.
He has lost some weight, but is now safely back home with his family.

‼ Adoptions are now closed until the New Year ‼

🔘 We are still happy to help with missing, lost and found posts.
🔘 As well as responding to messages, however please do keep in mind, we all have families and young children, so these may take longer than usual.
🔘 Adoption posts may still go up over this time. This way, we may get a head start 😸
🔘 You are welcome to put in your adoption applications, but they will not be responded to until after the 6th January. This includes ones we have already received.
🔘 We still have over 70 cats and kittens in the rescue with our foster carers, and they still need feeding etc.
If you find yourself in a position where you can donate the odd pound or two, please do as we will need to get through the coming weeks.
🔘 Foster carers will be needed in the New Year, so many will be contacted if forms have been filled out (old and new). We still have a waitlist with cats needing to come in. 🔘 Please do feel free to pop a new form across if you are still interested.

So from all of us here at Big Hearts 4 Small Paws
We hope you all have a wonderful Christmas with your families (be it human or furry) and Happy New Year.

Onyx
This stunning dark tabby boy is Biscuit's brother.
He is much more timid, but with time and patience, he will come out of his shell.
Although he's used to having children coming and going, he may best suit and adult only household, or one with older children 10 plus.

O'Malley (renamed Cason by his foster carer)
This beautiful boy came in off the streets after a concerned member of the public contacted us for help.
He had been in her garden for several weeks and she kindly took him in for a few days, and to the vets as his breathing was a little off.
However O'Malley has been with us since 7th February.
We believe he's 1-1.5years old.

Biscuit 😻 Ready January 25
This sweet, slightly timid boy is a little under a year old, and came to us as strays from a garden with his 3 siblings.
They were born outside, and although his siblings are much more timid, he has started to come out on leaps and bounds.
He will take a little time in his new home, but I'm sure given the love and patience, he will become a loving, lap cat.

Neutered ✅
Microchipped ✅
Vaccinated - 1st will be done prior to homing.

Help For Strays Rescue

I am an independent Stray Cat Rescue in Bewbush. (Trap, Neuter, Re home)

My aim is to get stray cats off the streets and into their new forever homes.

Re homing a stray cat through my rescue involves getting them neutered/spayed , have their vaccinations done with a full health check, request blood tests to check Fiv/Felv, and have a microchip implanted. They will also have flea and worm treatment while in my care. I rely heavily on the community for help fund this.

I am choosing to use Harvest Vet in Maidenbower for all treatment needed.
