After a busy weekend competing I am fortunate to have amazing support at Staffordshire University ππ»
As part of the High Performance Scholarship they provide personal training. My session is at 8am on a Monday, what a way to start a week!! Feeling absolutely depleted from the weekend my fab trainer James recognised a heavy weight session would not be advisable so took me through a recovery session π§πΌββοΈ
My body needed it π€ Iβve learnt new ways to stretch my body to help recovery and feeling much better all around. Itβs always important to consider you need time to heal after pushing your body to its limits especially when youβre getting older.
In my 40βs Iβm defo steely feeling it more than when I was younger and the easiest thing would be to stop competing.
Easy isnβt fun, easy isnβt challenging, easy is BORING! πππ»
Iβm doing this for me and for my daughter, she needs to have a good role model so she understands keeping fit and healthy is important for not just your body but mental health βοΈβ¨
Iβve popped a video of some of the stretches and rehab we went through, initially for my own reference but this can be used by you if you need some recovery ideas.

We had so much fun teaching young ladies vital self defence techniques at the caritas centre in crewe this morning in conjunction with Motherwell.
These session have been funded by Sport England and the police and crime commisoner for Cheshire John Dwyer.
This is their girls only #beactive sessions encouraging young women to try new things!

I took thea with me to The Indi Project today! These guys loved thea and she loved them too and had so much fun! She got to try being sensei for a day and practiced calling for the class, boosting her confidence. They saw her in action too, a brilliant reaction at the end π€ππ» everyone at the club makes us feel so welcome and we have so much fun, a little too much fun hitting each other with the pool noodles! Karate strengthens your body and also helps with balance and coordination. Well done everyone, canβt wait to see you again soon! ππ»πͺπ»ππ»β¨
I teach a little boy 1-2-1 karate in nantwich at yogak studio and received this very lovely review from his mum. It makes my heart sing to hear how happy she is β€οΈβ¨ I love teaching him so makes my job ever so easy ππ»π₯
