NANTWICH TOWN CENTRE WORKSHOP

Want to say an absolute huge huge well done to all of you today, it was so so nice to see you all achieving things that you haven’t before, and even though times of panic there were times you looked so relaxed and had smiles which was just so wonderful to watch you all.
I’m so so proud of how far you have come and the confidence and determination you have shown to be the best for your dog to give them all the most fantastic lives that they are all so lucky to have with all of you.
Really a true honour and pleasure to watch you all today, and each of you achieved something that in the beginning of your training journey, you never thought would be possible to achieve, and it’s so important each of you remember that, as we can be our own worse critic through wanting to give your dog the best of the best, which I can honestly say every dog today had exactly that with you.
Well done and enjoy your glass of wine or pint of beer to recover 😂. I will put the defibrillator back on charge ready for next time 😂.
Well done my ‘special needs group’, and well done team of dogs for being patient with your ‘special parents’ 😂, I know I can always rely on you doggo’s 🐾😂

BLIASH WORKSHOP - Nantwich town centre

Workshop on Sunday 24th November
Start time 11am
Finish time 2pm

This is a great opportunity to look at and work on the best techniques, to help build both yours and your dogs confidence in busy areas, along with manners on the lead walking past/meeting people and other dogs.

The town is very dog friendly and many enjoy walking their dogs through the town and enjoying the dog friendly coffee shops.
The workshop will include training with your dog at dog friendly coffee shop, and helping them to be able to sit calmly and watch people and dogs walk by. Along with working on their manners with other dogs and people also enjoying a coffee stop.

If you would like more information, or would like to book and join us on the workshop, please send us a message.

I look forward to seeing you all there 🐾

During times of war, dogs served alongside soldiers, carrying messages, detecting dangers, and providing comfort in the most challenging moments. This badge is not just a symbol of remembrance – it’s a tribute to their bravery and unwavering loyalty. Let’s honour their memory together.

I notice things.

I notice when you are frustrated with your dog and how you hurt her delicate throat with a thoughtless yank.
I see her tension and her vulnerability.
I notice when you touch your dog and they don't want to be touched.
I see their resignation.
I notice when a dog is a little bit scared of the human at the other end of the lead.
Ur unheard by them.
So they don't ever fully relax.

I also notice the softness of a dog who is respected.
The assurance of a dog who is unconditionally given autonomy and agency.
Because after all, neither of those are ours to take away.
I appreciate the gentle love language of allowing a dog to sniff.
No matter how long it takes.
I notice the unspoken look between a person and their dog.
And how the dog is receiving that look.

I see it all.
Some pierce my heart.
Some warm my heart.

But I see it all.

NEW TRAINING GROUP:
‘BLIASH Banging Training Group’

Hi everyone,
with quite a few of you who are working on loud noises with your dog, as well as others of you have mentioned previously that your dog doesn’t like loud noises.
Some of you will have dogs that have various levels of anxiety or fear, and for others on more of the working dog/Gundog may find that when your dog hears loud shots, they instantly want to run off and go try and find the birds from the shot.
Any level your dog may be of fear or anxiety, and also wether they respond to this by either shutting down and not moving and inch from your leg or lie down and not move, and others will go into flight mode and just run off until there is no more path or field to keep running on. Also you can attend this group if you just want to reinforce or practice having success on obedience with loud noise as distraction.
All of the various responses affect and override any success you have achieved on them responding to instruction on general obedience.

So with this in mind, I’m thinking of setting up a group that will run on the 3rd Sunday of each month, and it will be a morning group.
If you think a group like this would be of interest to you can you let me know by putting a comment on this post, with:
‘👍🏻Banging Group’.

Then I will see what level of interest there is, and will post all information for it if the group will be starting.

Thanks everyone, hope you all had a lovely weekend. 🐾

Solar storms and how it may impact your dogs.🦮🐕‍🦺

Scientific studies have repeatedly demonstrated that dogs are sensitive to geomagnetic changes.

Currently the earth is experiencing a powerful solar storm. It's effects on our dogs should not be underestimated. Especially our sensitive working dogs who are bred to have a heightened sense of direction. Dogs who are anxious or nervous may experience exacerbated symptoms. Dogs are sensitive to even small changes in the earth's magnetic field, this current storm is big and disruptive.

Epileptic dogs and people may be affected. There is a huge body of evidence relating to solar storms and seizures, have a little Google, there's too many relevant bits of literature to post here.

What can you do? Dogs are at increased risk of becoming disorientated in new environments, keep them on lead, in sight, have a heightened awareness of where they are. For dogs who rely on their sense of direction for work such as sheepdogs working hills, search and rescue dogs, tracking dogs, hunting dogs and trail dogs, it might be worth evaluating putting off any work where a dog may get lost.

In humans existing mental health conditions can worsen temporarily, particularly conditions caused by or associated with trauma, where your integral ability to orientate becomes distrupted and makes you feel unsafe, increasing anxiety and hypervigilance. This change in your presentation can also impact your dogs.

Just something to be aware of. As much as it sounds like hippy woo woo nonsense, I can assure you, it's a thing.

"the idea that animals can detect Earth’s magnetic field has traveled the path from ridicule to well-established fact in little more than one generation. Dozens of experiments have now shown that diverse animal species, ranging from bees to salamanders to sea turtles to birds, have internal compasses. Some species use their compasses to navigate entire oceans, others to find better mud just a few inches away."
