So I’m looking out of the window and all the goats are snorting and alarm stomping towards the mums and babies field, I go and look and can’t see anything, but on my way back I look down at Nelly & Nora who are running to the field and back again and there in the grass are a duck and ducklings 🥰 she doesn’t seem bothered by the goats being inquisitive

Who knew a bed could be so comfy! I missed a whole nights sleep with Crystal kidding a couple of nights ago, I got in bed last night and it was like heaven lol.
So the last 2 to kid in this batch were Emmerald and her mum Crystal, they haven’t been separated since Emerald was born, so I wanted to keep them as a family unit. Then once Emerald kidded I had to split the pen as the kids were going to granny instead of their mum. I can’t say either Emerald or Crystal were very happy about being split up!
Both of them needed me there for kidding, 1st was Emmerald a first timer who lay down and just pushed and out came the kid in its bag, she didn’t know to stand up and break the bag so luckily I jumped in and burst the bag before it drowned, I put the kid in front of her and she licked him clean, within 5 mins of the 1st one she pushed again and same again, out slid a second one! I burst the bag on that one too, it was scarily fast! both mum and kids are doing really well. 3 days later Crystal kidded, she has always kidded without help before but this time she had a massive single kid with just its head presented (no feet) so she needed a bit of help and we managed to get the kid out alive, both mum and kid (female) are doing really well and they are now all back in one pen as a happy family unit and I can now enjoy my bed until July when we start again
The photos were yesterday when I let them on the yard in the sun for a quick play, the black one is Crystal’s and is just 1 day here and Emerald’s 2 are just 4 days old

It’s seems ages since I’ve posted/updated the goats, ponies or cows Fb pages. Hubby’s retired and I thought we’d have more time but seems like we have less! but we are getting loads of jobs done, so it’s not too bad.
We seem to have babies everywhere 🥰 and in all the madness there is nothing nicer than having a chill out time with the baby goats ❤️ we had a visitor the other day, the biggest fox I’ve seen in a while, he freaked everybody out as he ran through, as big as he was, he still managed to go through the sheep netting without breaking his stride!

It’s lovely and warm today after all the snow then heavy frost have gone, although the babies have had access to outside, they have chose to hang around the shed while their mums go off and graze, today they have decided to play in the field ❤️
