The Christmas holidays are here!

Join us in the yurt today for some zoo crafts. We also kick start our Christmas colouring competition. This will be going on all through December for your chance to win a handmade Amazona Zoo medal, certificate and your place on the winners board!

Our Keepers got asked to send Father Christmas a wishlist, of some new items for our animals to enjoy and enrich.
We have just heard from Big Red 🎅 that he will deliver early, as he will be busy on Christmas eve - everyone knows that surely! 🤷‍♀️
So keep your eyes peeled for pictures on here, of our animals sharing in the seasons festive cheer! 🎁❤️❄️

Our new additions to Amazona -
Please say hi to Gertie, Ivy and Parsnip, our 3 beautiful female Capybara ❤️
They are only 6 - 8 months old so have some growing to do, but they are settling in well and we so pleased to have Capybara back at the zoo!

Important update - we will be closed tomorrow - Sunday 8th Decemeber due to the forecasted high winds from Storm Darragh.

Today the Little Keepers met our lovely Guinea Pigs 🥰 They were a huge hit. Next week is our final session of the year and we end it with our very first Little Keepers Christmas party 🥳 so make sure you wear your festive outfits and get ready for a very special guest appearance (it’s not who you think!). Cameras at the ready!! 🤩

Did you know we now operate in our Winter Hours? We are open 10am-3.30pm, with last admission at 2.30pm.❄️☁️
