Another URGENT request for support

We have taken Max in from an awful situation and he must think he has died and gone to heaven!

We are so full and inundated with rehoming requests that we have to turn away; can you look after this great dog for us?

We believe him to be about 4; so far he has been wonderful and because of his background, we think that moving forward it will be like introducing a puppy to the world.

Please contact us if you can help us (it will be best to complete an application form so that we have all the information we need)

We have had a few cases of mycotoxin poisoning recently. Its not a poisoning that folks are generally familiar with, so we thought we'd share the information to raise awareness.-

Ingestion of mouldy food from the bin or a compost pile puts dogs, cats, horses, livestock, and even wildlife at risk for toxicity due to tremorgenic mycotoxins. These toxins may be found in MOULDY bread, pasta, cheese, nuts, or other decaying matter like compost. Clinical signs include vomiting, agitation, incoordination, tremors, seizures, and elevated body temperature. A specific mycotoxin called aflatoxin can even cause liver failure. Be sure to keep mouldy food and compost out of your pets reach!

This is very delayed but I had to give it time as this hit everyone involved quite hard,

I'd like to make a post to pay tribute to one of the most sweetest girls I ever had the pleasure to grow a bond with,

This sweet girl knew how to melt your heart if she wanted to,

If you ever saw her outside of her safe space you would've seen the most reactive dog and there wasn't just 1 thing she was reactive to, it was everything, but with time and patience she came so far from when her owner first got her,

I am so happy I got to know her and that she accepted me into her life, and I'm so thankful to her owner for reaching out to me in the beginning and putting her trust in me to carry out my services,

Unfortunately she had to be put to rest but the time was right, she has left me with the best memories and ill forever remember her ❤

Goodnight Bella, I hope your finding all the balls and sticks, chasing and nipping at all the flies and telling everyone you're nearby 😓❤🌈

🌞 Urgent Reminder for Dog Owners: Protect Your Pups in This Scorching Heat! 🌞

As temperatures soar and humidity rises, our furry friends are at serious risk. Here’s how you can be a responsible, loving dog owner and keep your pets safe and cool during these hot days:

🚨 Walk Timing is Crucial 🚨
Only walk your dog before the temperature hits 20°C (Temperature is different for certain breeds and also their health & age). If you can’t make a morning walk, wait until the sun sets and there’s ample shade. Some dogs might need two walks, but plan them wisely!

🔥 Pavement Check 🔥
Our dogs’ paws are tough but not immune to burning. Pavements get hotter than the air temperature. Do the hand test: if you can’t hold the back of your hand on the pavement for more than a minute, it’s too hot for your dog’s paws.

🏠 Keep Them Entertained Indoors 🏠
Skip the walk and keep them busy inside! Licki mats, homemade puzzles with cardboard boxes, towels, or hidden treats work wonders. A 45-minute play session can be as tiring as a walk.

🌳 Cool Down the Yard 🌳
If your dog loves the garden, keep it cool. Throw cold water on concrete or brick flooring regularly, and water astro turf to prevent burns. Get a pool for them but keep it under shade. Create shaded areas with a gazebo or makeshift garden sail.

😎 Sun Exposure Limits 😎
Dogs that bask in the sun need their time limited to 5-10 minutes. Light-furred dogs can get sunburnt; apply a safe dog sun cream. Blue-eyed dogs are sensitive to sunlight and need extra protection.

❗ Be a Responsible Owner ❗
Keep your dogs indoors when it’s too hot. They won’t hate you for skipping a walk in the scorching heat – they’ll thank you for it!

Let’s spread this vital message and ensure our dogs stay safe and cool this summer! Share this post to save a paw! 🐾

If you’re looking for “Just A Dog Walker” or “Just A Pet Sitter” ....well that’s not me. 🐾

Shared From A Fellow Dog Walker with some of my own modifications

Secrets of a Dog Walker 🚶🏻‍♀️ 🐕 🐈

1. It's a lifestyle, not just a job.

2. We talk to other Pet Sitters more than you might think. About the best walking shoes, , the best leashes and p**p bags, what clothing we are wearing for today's weather, the traffic, which roads are shut down, etc. Many days my only human contact is the person at the drive through of a fast food or in the shop when I get a chance to stop.

3. We don't physically have eyes in the backs of our heads but we know so well the sound of every jingle of every ID tag, and every dog's individual footfall on the ground behind us, we may as well have eyes 👀 in the back of our heads.

4. We can't physically see around corners either, but we know so well each leading dog's body language in reaction to an oncoming person and/or dog.

5. We hear "Are they all yours?!" and "Wow you've got your hands full" at least twice a day, but we always smile and say "They keep me on my toes". Every. Single. Time.

6. It actually breaks our heart when a dog moves out of our area, and we thoroughly investigate our replacement for our own peace of mind, even if the client hasn't asked us to.

7. If you peel back a few layers of clothing (depending on the season) you will find bruises, scratches and scrapes covering the whole of our bodies. Don't bother asking where they came from, we have no idea.

8. If you see a dog walker looking vaguely presentable on a weekday, you should send help, something is not right.

9. We love our clients' dogs as we do our own and will sometimes lie awake at night worrying about their injuries, illnesses, and behaviour problems. We can't help it after spending so much time with them. They aren't just yours anymore, they're ours aswell 😅.

10. When we get the news that a clients dog has passed away we are deeply affected and swear it’s time to get out of this business. When we walk in on or looking after a pet that has possibly passed away we have to make that phone call and sound put together when we are falling apart.

Despite the struggle of keeping up with about 400 clients schedules as well as my own schedule, limited amounts of sleep and crazy weather conditions I feel I have the best job in the world. I have the BEST clients in the world.. Its so nice to receive a picture from a client of a wedding they attended, a graduation, the birth of a new baby, birthday parties, vacations, etc. that they were able to attend while I looked after their pets.

I do Love what I do! Thank you for trusting me as your Pet Sitter/Dog Walker🐾
