It’s not just cats and dogs who are coming in for dental treatment this month!
Meet the lovely Lily who has been for some dental treatment under anaesthetic today.
Rabbits can sometimes unfortunately have dental problems.
They will sometimes present as spurs on their molars or sometimes misaligned and overgrown incisors.
A general anaesthetic and dental treatment to help them maintain a smooth even surface on their teeth will then be required.
If you notice a change in what your rabbit is eating , eg preferring soft food over chewing harder foods that they usually eat.
Or weight loss has been noticed, it’s recommended to make an appointment for the Veterinary Surgeon to examine your bunny and check it’s oral health.
Another tip to keep your bunny healthy is to keep track of your rabbits usual weight.
Sometimes the first indication of a dental issue can be weight loss.
