🐺 Lobo 🐺

This magnificent boy is Lobo - a stunning mix of German Shepherd, Husky, and Czechoslovakian Wolfdog! At 5 years old, he’s grown into an incredibly regal and majestic presence (and trust me, the photo doesn’t do his size justice – he’s HUGE! 🐾)

But don’t be fooled by that big, noble look - Lobo is the definition of a gentle giant. With the sweetest soul and the calmest nature, he was an absolute dream to groom. 🫶🏼

I actually knew Lobo when he was just a fluffy little pup, before his lovely owner moved away - so it was such a pleasure to welcome them to the salon while they’re visiting friends here in Caerphilly. A full pamper session was definitely in order, and Lobo took it all in his stride like the good boy he is! 🛁✨

🤎 Ted 🤎

Sweet little Ted, who is a Shihtzu cross Bichon Frise, was back in the salon recently for his third appointment with me, and he’s continuing to settle in so beautifully 🐶✨

Ted’s been on a regular on 8-week grooming schedule since he started coming to see me earlier this year, and he’s getting more confident with each visit - it’s such a pleasure to see his trust growing! Whilst he’s not the biggest fan of his owner leaving him, he’s still so calm, gentle, and a true gentleman for his entire groom 🫶🏼

For his haircut we’ve kept him in his signature teddy bear trim (because really, how could we not?) - short and neat through the body with those irresistibly fluffy legs and that charming round face that suits him so well 🧸✂️

At 8 years old, Ted is proof that it’s never too late to find a grooming routine that works - and he’s taken to it like a pro. His coat is staying in lovely condition, and he’s become a real little star on the table 🌟

Always a pleasure to have you in, Ted - can’t wait to see you next time! ❤️🐾

🧡 Jax 🧡

Meet Jax - a gorgeous 2-year-old Beagle who recently had his very first visit to Little Bear Dog Grooming! This handsome rescue boy stole my heart the moment he trotted through the door (I’ve got such a soft spot for rescues 🥹), and he did so well at his spa day.

Jax’s appointment included:
🛁 A double shampoo to get that coat squeaky clean
🌿 A nourishing conditioning treatment
💨 A full blow dry and thorough de-shed
👂 An ear clean
🐾 Nail trim
🌸 And a spritz of finishing fragrance

✨ Beagle Fun Fact: Did you know Beagles have one of the best senses of smell in the canine world? 🐶 Their noses have around 220 million scent receptors (compared to a human’s 5 million!), which is why they’re often used as detection dogs!

Jax was such a gentle, sweet soul - he was curious, calm, and oh-so-trusting. It was a pleasure to have him and he’s welcome back any time! ❤️🐾

✨ Ewok & Tucker – A Special Reunion ✨

While I was back in Cullompton over the weekend visiting friends, I had the chance to squeeze in something very special before heading home to Caerphilly… a grooming session with none other than the sweetest little souls, Ewok & Tucker 🩵🩵

These two boys hold such a special place in my heart, and their lovely humans had been planning to bring them all the way to Wales so I could continue grooming them (I’m still blown away by that kindness 🥹). But with Ewok being such a busy boy lately – popping up at Nowzad fundraisers and sharing cuddles with all his fans – I thought I’d save him the extra journey and see them while I was in town.

So yesterday, back in my old salon - where so many memories were made and where my grooming journey began - I got to welcome Tucker and Ewok once again. Tucker was full of spark and snuggles, and little Ewok was as gentle and cuddly as ever, reminding me exactly why I love what I do.

To their wonderful humans: thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for making me part of these boys’ world.

Some reunions are simply good for the soul - and this one was no exception. Until next time, sweet boys… I’ll be counting down the days! ❤️🐾

✨ Willow’s First Spa Day! ✨

Meet Willow, the sweetest little 16-week-old Dachshund who stole my heart during her very first puppy groom on Friday! 💜

This gorgeous girl has a stunning Isabella coat - a rare and beautiful colouring that makes her extra special. And let’s be honest… she knows she’s a beauty! 😍

Willow came in for a gentle bath, a soft blow dry, and a little nail trim. She did brilliantly but wasn’t quite sure what to make of the dryer, so she curled up in my lap for comfort - and of course, I was more than happy to oblige with some extra cuddles. 🥰

Thank you to Willow’s lovely owner for trusting me with this gorgeous girl! It was such a pleasure to welcome her to the salon for her first grooming experience, and I’m looking forward to watching her grow up into a confident little lady. ❤️🐾

🌟 Sirius is Back! 🌟

Our little star Sirius returned to Little Bear Dog Grooming today for his second visit – and just like last time, he was an absolute joy! 💙

Now 11 months old, this handsome Jackapoo is growing up beautifully. His family chose to keep the same style as last time: short and manageable for easy upkeep, with just the right amount of fluff left behind for that signature Sirius cuteness ✂️✨

It’s always lovely seeing familiar faces (and wagging tails!) and watching my furry clients grow in confidence. Sirius was cool, calm, and sweet as ever – taking everything in his stride like the clever little pup he is. We even managed a few snuggles again once the trim was done. 🥰

This little guy has such a gentle, endearing nature – it’s been a real treat to have him in the salon again. Can’t wait to see him again soon! ❤️🐾

⚽️ Pele – Back for Round 3! ⚽️

Sweet Pele the Sproodle is officially a Little Bear regular 🐻💛 He came in for his third visit this week, and I just have to say… I *love* having this lovely boy on my grooming table!

His coat was in fantastic condition - no knots or tangles anywhere - which is a real credit to his amazing owner who keeps him brushed out beautifully between appointments. Regular coat care at home makes such a difference, and it means Pele can enjoy his pamper sessions stress-free and full of tail wags!

For his signature style, we’ve stuck with his adorable teddy bear trim - a short, practical body with those chunky, fluffy legs and his round, adorable face. It really suits his soft, sensitive nature and gives him that perfect cuddly look. 🧸✨

It’s such a pleasure watching Pele grow in confidence with each visit. He’s a true sweetheart and has totally stolen a piece of my heart!

Can’t wait to see you next time, Pele! ❤️🐾

🌟 Bertie’s 2nd Visit! 🌟

This adorable little pup is Bertie, the 10-month-old Cavapoochon who visited me for his second appointment at Little Bear Dog Grooming this week - and this time, he had a full groom and haircut.

If you remember from a few weeks ago, Bertie is still learning to feel comfortable with the grooming process. He’s a sensitive soul who sometimes finds things a little overwhelming - especially the blow drier and having his legs and feet handled. So, just like last time, everything about his groom was carefully adapted to make him feel as safe and relaxed as possible. 💛

🐾 Instead of the usual dryer which Bertie is fearful of, I used a stand dryer for his full blow-dry - it takes longer, but it’s much gentler and far less stressful for Bertie.
🐾 Because he’s not keen on clippers near his legs and feet, I gave those areas a hand-scissored tidy instead - allowing me to work more slowly and with less pressure on sensitive spots.
🐾 His haircut was a light trim all over, just enough to help him get used to me handling him in different areas - with lots of reassurance and cuddles along the way.

At this stage, we’re not aiming for perfection - we’re building trust, confidence, and positive associations first. And that’s at the heart of a holistic grooming journey! ❤️✨

Bertie will be coming in roughly every 5 weeks for now, giving us the opportunity to go at *his* pace and build trust. With each visit, he’ll grow more familiar with me and the process - and I’m so proud of the progress he’s already made.

He was such a brave boy this week, and it’s so lovely getting to know him better each time he visits. Welcome back, Bertie - you’re doing brilliantly! 🐶💫

🐾 Bear’s First Visit! 🐾

I’ve had a newcomer to the salon today! Meet Bear, the sweetest 8-month-old Labradoodle who had his very first visit to Little Bear Dog Grooming for his second-ever haircut! 💈🐶

At this curious, playful age, Bear can get a little vocal when there are other pups around (can you blame him?!). So I booked him an evening appointment when the salon was calm and quiet with just the two of us, so we could focus on getting to know each other without any distractions.

Bear was such a champ! He happily climbed in and out of the bath (with a little treat persuasion, of course 🍖), and hopped on and off the grooming table like a pro. For his haircut he had a short body clip, slightly fluffier legs, a proud plumed tail, and a neat, tight face to really show off those gorgeous Labrador features.

Bear did so well we had a bit of spare time at the end of the appointment so we wrapped up his session with some well earned playtime and squeaky ball fun - because every good boy deserves a reward!

It’s such a joy to help young dogs like Bear build confidence in a grooming space. With a little patience (and a few treats!), today’s visit was a big success. I’m already looking forward to watching him grow - and seeing that cheeky little face back in the salon soon! ❤️🐾

💜 Meet Coco! 💜

This beautiful little 3 year old Cockapoo came in for her very first visit to Little Bear Dog Grooming on Friday, and what an absolute delight she was!

Coco came to me after her previous groomer sadly moved away - never an easy transition for pups. But from the moment she arrived, she was calm, gentle, and so incredibly trusting. It’s not often a dog settles in so quickly on their first visit, but Coco had the kind of quiet confidence that just made everything easy.

She had the most impeccable table manners (honestly, a total dream to groom), and the sweetest little personality that had me completely smitten within minutes. Her gentle nature and calm presence made it such a lovely appointment - the perfect way to end my week. ❤️

Coco may have come in as a newcomer, but she left having completely stolen a little piece of my heart. Thank you to Coco’s family for trusting me with your beautiful girl - she’s a true gem! 💎🐾

🐾 A Couple of Familiar Faces! 🐾

Yesterday I had the pleasure of welcoming back two of my lovely regulars, on separate visits, and I couldn’t resist sharing their sweet faces and little updates with you! 💛

✨ Milo the Cockapoo was in for his third visit and second haircut! He’s a naturally nervous boy, but he’s growing in confidence a little more each time. Pamper days aren’t his favourite, but once he’s through the door, he lets me get on with it like a true little star. I’m so proud of how far he’s come - such a gentle, sweet soul. 💕

🎶 Billy the Cocker Spaniel pup was in for his fourth visit - just a bath and blow-dry this time to keep him fresh between grooms. Billy is currently in his teenage phase (yes, pups go through them too!) and decided to serenade us with his best vocals throughout the appointment 🙈😂 He’s been practicing this at home too, so we know he’s just finding his voice - literally!

Watching these pups grow - whether it’s building trust or exploring their personalities - is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do.

💖 Meet Dotty! 💖

This gorgeous little lady came in for her very first visit to Little Bear Dog Grooming today - and it was a pleasure to welcome her! Dotty is a Jack Russell Terrier with a beautiful white coat and the cutest black spots… her name suits her perfectly! 🖤🤍

Dotty popped in for a quick freshen-up before heading off on a last-minute weekend getaway with her lovely owners. She was such a sweet girl throughout her groom - not a huge fan of the blow dryer (totally understandable, Dotty! 😅), so we took it nice and slow with plenty of towel drying, a gentle stand dryer, and of course… a few tasty treats to help make it a positive experience. 💕

Fun fact: Jack Russell Terriers were originally bred in England over 200 years ago to hunt foxes - which explains their cleverness, agility, and endless energy! They might be small, but they’re absolutely packed with personality. 💥🐶

I just loved having Dotty in today, she’s the sweetest little lady and it was a pleasure to pamper her before her weekend away. Have a fabulous little holiday, Dotty! ❤️🐾
