Culmside Support LLP offers day care opportunities for people with learning disabilities and mental health issues. These opportunities include-
- Caring for calves, providing them with clean bedding, food and water.
- Working with small animals. We have a number of small animals including pigs, goats, chickens, ducks, rabbits, guinea pigs and a Shetland pony. The jobs range from collecting eggs
, cleaning out the rabbits, guinea pigs, ducks and chickens. Grooming the rabbits and guinea pigs and assisting with all the animals general care.
- We have garden space where we have the opportunity to grow our own flowers, salad and vegetables either in the poly tunnel or out side in a number of raised beds. We also do a lot of general garden maintenance from weeding of flower beds, grass cutting, leaf clearing, hedge cutting and watering.
- Construction and maintenance of animal runs and houses, paddock and perimeter fencing.
- Our day care "shed" area, is where we are able to do craft and cooking activities. It has a fully working kitchen. Some of these activities are - home grown jam and chutney making, baking using home grown fruit and veg. making of Christmas decorations, flower pot painting and decorating, construction of bird feeders, hanging planters.
