They can grow up to about 12".
They are suitable for general community aquariums.
Substrate should be fine sand or fine gravel to protect their barbel areas. Numerous hiding places should be provided in the form of bogwood, caves and plants. Aquarium lighting should be subdued.
Feeding sinking catfish pellets, small pellets, algae wafers, flake food and frozen foods. Eagerly eats aquatic snails as a treat.
