Cooper 🐶
Come spend the day with us 🏥 as little Cooper shares his visit with you.
Cooper the Golden Retriever puppy is only 15 weeks old and has a condition called Lingually Displaced Canines 🦷. This means his two lower canines point towards the tongue rather than away from the tongue.
The condition causes the teeth to stick into the upper mouth, which in turn causes pain and discomfort 🥺. It is also hereditary so we don’t recommend breeding from the pet that has the condition as it can then be passed on.
Treatment involves surgical removal of the baby canines, which Cooper was in for. Then a process called Ball Therapy is started when the adult canines start to erupt to hopefully correct the adult teeth.
As you can see, Cooper was such a brilliant patient. He even showed off the tricks that he has learned!

Shane 🐾
CT Friday ☢️
Come spend the day with us as we show you what it’s like for a patient coming in for a CT scan!
Shane the Labrador 🐶 recently had a CT scan of his knees as the Vet was concerned about potential arthritis, due to his previous history of a knee condition. Luckily the CT Scan has shown little signs of this so far!
As always, Shane was such a good boy. His tail was still wagging in recovery ❤️🩹 even though he was feeling a bit yucky from the sedation medications.

Lily 🐱
Come spend the day with us 🏥 as we show you a little bit of Lily’s experience for her spay procedure.
Lily received her spay via the flank, which means the surgical site is on the left hand side of the abdomen.
The surgical site is scrubbed twice: the first scrub using diliute hibiscrub to ensure the area is clean, then the second scrub using Chloraprep to ensure the area is then sterile.
Neutering female cats 🐱 can have a variety of benefits including reducing risks of womb infections, cancer and unwanted pregnancies.
If you would like for your female cat to be booked in for neutering then please call ☎️ the practice on 01236 368230 to arrange an appointment.

Milo 🐶
Come spend the day with us as we show you a little bit of Milo’s visit!
Milo the Cavalier 🐶 recently spent the day with us for his castration.
He was such a friendly wee dog and loved his day at the vets… the Buster Collar not so much!
Castration can have a range of benefits for your pet. We also only recommend castration of a healthy and confident/friendly dog. Neutering male dogs who are nervous, fearful or anxious is not recommended for many reasons.
If you would like to arrange for your male dog to be castrated or you would like some advice about neutering but your dog is nervous, anxious or fearful then please call ☎️ the practice on 01236 368230 and we would be more than happy to help.

Tali the Ragdoll 🐱 spent the day with us recently for her spay and microchip.
In our practice, we usually carry out a cat spay via the flank, which means the surgical site is on the left hand side of the abdomen. However, in some cases, owners choose to have the procedure carried out via midline, which means the surgical site is in the middle of the abdomen.
Tali’s owner decided that midline was best for Tali. She was such a good girl throughout her stay with us 💖
Come watch her video showing her experience with us.
Tali is doing really well at home 🏠 and is back to her usual self.

Liberty 🐶
Liberty has a condition called Hip Dysplasia and so her usual veterinary practice referred her to us for a Total Hip Replacement 🦴
This is her 6 weeks post-op and fully healed. How amazing is that?!
We’re so glad we were able to help you Liberty and we hope that you enjoy your new lease of life pain free 💖

Robyn’s visit to the vet 🐾
Robyn who is a 6 year old Labrador, visited us yesterday for a small lump removal and for her teeth to be cleaned 🦷
She was such a sweetheart and was very well behaved.
Robyn wanted to share her experience with you all as she had a great experience and would like everyone to know it’s not that scary coming to the vet!
Her lump has been sent off to the external lab 🧪 and we will update her family with the results.
Thank you Robyn 🐾

Alfie’s day out at the vets 🐾
Mr Alfie spent the day with us today for a much needed dental 🦷
He loves us so much that he wanted to share his visit with you. What a good boy!
Alfie received fluids through his procedure and in recovery, which helped to support him. This an optional extra that we offer to all patients undergoing procedures. He also received dental X-rays.
Did you know that we include dental X-rays in the costs of our dentals. So you can be assured that there are no hidden fees with us.
Thank you Alfie 🐾

Little Chonk the hamster came in yesterday as he had sustained an injury to his eye.
Vet Gemma assessed him and discussed with his mum that his eye was now blind and causing him pain, so the best plan was to remove the eye.
So today Chonk came in for vet Claire to operate on and he came through his surgery like a champ, even showing off on his wheel before it was time for him to go home this afternoon!
We wish wee Chonk a speedy recovery! 🥰

🦴 Luxating Patella 🦴
🦴 Luxating Patella 🦴
🌟Does anyone know what a Luxating Patella is?
🌟Or has anyone seen what a Luxating Patella looks like?
Luxating Patella is a condition where the knee cap pops in and out or in some cases stays out of the joint.
The condition mainly affects dogs 🐶 and is most common in smaller breeds. It is graded from 1 to 4 with grade 4 being the most severe. Anything from grade 2 upwards requires surgery to repair.
Symptoms mainly include skipping and/or hopping when out for walks or exercising
In the video, you can clearly see Shane’s knee cap popping in and out, where Shane has recently had this surgically repaired by Vet Brian.
We are very fortunate here at Vets4Pets Cumbernauld 🐾, where we have Vet Brian 🩺 who has a certificate in orthopaedics, and so is able to perform orthopaedic procedures without the need to refer patients.
