I am a bit late to the party here - but last week was National Trustees' Week!

The Reading Room & Recreation Ground is run by a Charity made up of two part-time members of staff, five volunteer Trustees and a volunteer bookkeeper. We also have two additional volunteers who regularly help us with maintenance and repairs.

I am Vanessa, one of the Trustees. I lead the Team of Trustees who are Bill, Larry, Chloe & Harriet. We all give whatever time we are able to. Everyone comes along to the monthly meetings if they can and some invest more of their time working on particular projects. There is a lot to do - especially at the moment with trying to turn around the charity's financial position.

We have space for up to 8 Trustees on our team.

Being a Trustee can be incredibly rewarding. You get to meet other people who share a passion for the Reading Room, learn new skills, have the opportunity to influence the future of this valuable community resource and be part of a team who are securing the longevity of that resource for generations to come - all of which is hugely satisfying.

In particular, I am looking for Trustees to work closely with me as the Charity's Treasurer or Secretary to strengthen our team and help me move the Charity onwards and upwards!

Whilst previous experience would be helpful, it is not ncessary as full training will be provided. The Secretary role is likely to take up to 3 hours a month and the Treasurer role around 2 to 5 hours per month supporting our bookkeeper.

If you are interested please email [email protected].

More details for each role can be found on our website at www.curdridgereadingroom.co.uk/jobs
