Exciting Sanctuary News! 🐶📰

Some of you may not know, but Dale the Patterdale joined us in June 2023. Unfortunately, he was rehomed twice during his time in our care, as he was often misunderstood.

After being returned for the second time in September 2024, Dale found a loving foster home in the November.

Last month, we received the heartwarming news from his foster family - they couldn’t bear to part with him and decided to adopt!

Today, the adoption papers were signed and we’re thrilled to announce that Dale and Thomas are truly a match made in heaven! 🐾❤️🥳

We are overjoyed that Dale has finally found his happy ending.

We are heartbroken to announce that Treat has returned to the Sanctuary💔

Treat first came to us in September 2024, alongside his brother, Trick.

They found a loving home together in February 2025. Unfortunately, after just a week of being allowed outside, Treat developed an infection in his foot. Following veterinary advice, he was to then be kept as an indoor cat due to his condition - See medical section on our Website 👉https://www.allcreaturesgreatandsmall.org.uk/pet/treat/ 🔗

This then posed a challenge as Trick was still able to explore the outdoors, leading Treat’s family to make the difficult decision to return him to our care.

Treat is a remarkable boy with a quiet and gentle disposition. He thrives on affection and loves to cuddle. As a long-haired cat, Treat is prone to matting and he has recently had a few patches shaved at the vets, leaving him looking a bit rough around the edges. But don’t let that fool you, his loving personality shines through and he is ready to bring endless joy to a new family. 

Treat deserves a peaceful home where he can feel safe and cherished.

“Hi there, hope you’re all well!

I thought I’d email with a little update on Harold the Guinea Pig, who I adopted on Saturday 29th March 2025.

This lovely boy has settled in so well! By the Monday he was taking food out of my hand and by the Wednesday he was accepting strokes from me in his hutch.

He loves squeaking at any noise or movement, setting off my other two boys in the hutch next to him 😂 he’s a sweet, gentle boy and I can’t wait to get him a friend once he’s had the snip in a few weeks. I’ve attached some pictures too, he’s got such a smiley face!

We’re thrilled to share a lovely message from his adopters! 🌟

“He has obviously come from a wonderful home, they clearly loved him & looked after him beautifully - he is curious & inquisitive, seeks & relishes attention/fuss, sheaths his claws carefully to play, uses his litter tray nicely and was not interested in hiding or not eating, no siree, let me at the food and where’s all the toys please!

We are delighted to have such a livewire join our little gang, our first cat Mellon has been sniffing under his room door lots, we shall start slow intros soon.
