Malnourished Puppies 💔

We have updates! 🗣️

Adoption applications are now open!✍️✔️

These girls arrived at our rescue unexpectedly last week, from a farm in Pontypool and have faced significant challenges, including severe malnourishment. Although they seem to be 9-10 weeks old based on their behavior and teeth, their size is more akin to that of a 6 week old 🥺🥺🥺

Despite their hardships, Mia and Grace (was Maya) are filled with happiness and personality! 🐾✨ Let’s help them begin their journey on the right paw toward a brighter future! 🌻

Who wouldn’t want to wake up to this face every morning? 🌅💞

It breaks our hearts to share that Simba, a sweet senior dog, has found himself alone in rescue. After his previous owner faced challenges at home, Simba was left behind, longing for love and care.

Simba is estimated to be between 10-13 years old, though his exact birth date remains unknown. His former owner thought he might be 15, but veterinarians believe he may be a bit younger.

Simba is a truly affectionate companion, charming everyone he meets with his warm personality. He loves cuddling and being around people, always ready for a gentle embrace. Despite his age, he still enjoys leisurely walks and sniffing out new adventures. It’s crucial for him to be walked regularly at his pace, without this, he can experience muscle stiffness and mobility issues.

His favorite game is tug of war, and he has a special fondness for his toys!🧸

Simba knows basic cues including “speak,” and he won’t hesitate to remind you when he catches a whiff of something tasty! 🧀

This gentle soul is in search of a serene home where he can spend his golden years surrounded by love and comfort.

Please share to assist us in our mission to find a home for him! 💔

🐉🐈‍⬛ How to Train Your Cat: Meet Your New Companion, Toothless!

Toothless arrived at our sanctuary after being found as a stray in the Ebbw Vale area. Despite efforts to find his original home through social media and local inquiries, no one came forward to claim him. Now that his seven-day hold period is over, he’s ready to find a new home!

When Toothless first joined us, he spent five days hiding under blankets and beneath the stairs, looking shy and a bit confused. However, on day six, he started to come out of his shell and greet us with his sweet personality! He is a very curious boy, brimming with energy.

He doesn’t mind being picked up and craves attention, especially during mealtimes.

A little heads up: Toothless is a master at hiding! In his first few days, our staff found it challenging to locate him because he can squeeze into the tiniest spaces! Potential adopters should be prepared for him to find clever hiding spots during his settling in period.

If you’re ready to welcome this charming boy into your home, Toothless is waiting for you! 🥰

🎤 Meet Our Vocal Bengal Beauty: Peggy!

Peggy came to us as a “stray” after the family caring for her moved away on June 16th. A local company nearby, who had known Peggy for over a year, found her alone and took her to a vet for a microchip scan. Sadly, the details were linked to her breeder, who had the owner’s contact information, but despite efforts to reach out, no one has come forward for her.

Now that her seven-day hold period has passed, she is ready for rehoming!

This sweet, older girl loves attention and, as a Bengal, she’s quite chatty! Peggy isn’t a fan of cattery life and would much prefer a cozy home where she can be the center of attention 💟

The perfect home for Peggy would be pet-free, allowing her to receive all the love she truly deserves. If you think you could provide that special place for her, please reach out to us! ☺️

Oh if looks could kill……

Lucy was NOT having it today at Usk Vets for her annual booster! 😾🛑

After a fierce protest and some theatrical hissing, she finally plopped down on the scales, but only after a bribe of beloved dreamies! 🍬😸

Let’s just say, Lucy made it very clear that she’d rather be anywhere else than at the vets 😅 Home sweet home, please! 🏡💨

📢 Help Find Travis! 📢

Sorry I’ve been quiet. My head decided to tell me that Travis was no longer with us, when, In Fact, I really don’t know what to think anymore. I just hope and pray 🙏 he’s not alone or scared.
The not knowing - that’s the worst. Almost 11 weeks now.

Please, please don’t stop looking out for our boy or sending pics of possible Travis. If you see someone with a dog that looks exactly like Travis, don’t be afraid to ask. I even had a lady ask me in Caerphilly if my dog was Travis (it’s his sister , Mila) She didn’t know who I was. After explaining, she apologised- but I told her not to, it was great that she asked.

I really cannot thank you enough for continuing to look and spreading the word.

Lucy Beagle Updates! 🐶

“What can we say about our lovely Lucy who we have had since Nov 2021.

As soon as we saw her photo we knew she was the one for us!
She had been at the shelter for a while and rehomed a few times.
She just needed a busy home and lots of love and patience.

We have never rescued before but will definitely in the future. She is the craziest, sweetest and most loving dog who keeps us on our toes! X”

Our Story

All Creatures great and Small was established in 1992 and became a registered charity in 2001. We operate a programme of rehabilitation and re-homing for unwanted, abandoned and sometimes neglected or abused animals.

In 2017 we took in over 300 animals, the majority of which were placed in loving homes. In addition to our re-homing programme, we also have over 100 animals living here permanently, including chickens, horses, geese, rabbits, sheep, goats and many more!
